BES Weekly Update

Please be sure your child knows how he/she is getting home from school at regular dismissal time for the rest of the year. We dismiss buses at 2:30 and cars shortly after that.

Does your child have a teacher that goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty that you would like to nominate for the ABCS Award? Is there a staff member at BES that your child feels goes out of his/her way to be kind or do things to support our school? If so, please click here to nominate a staff member for the ABCD Award. Nominations are due by the 10th of the month.

Thank you parents for your efforts to have kids here and on time last Thursday for testing. We only had a handful to make up. This week we will test on Tuesday. Thank you in advance for you help in getting them here encouraged, ready and on time.

Testing Dates are:

May 4 - SC Ready (Reading)

May 9 - SC Ready (Language and Writing)

May 16 - SC Ready (Mathematics)

May 18 - SC Ready (Science - 4th Grade Only)

The following are things you can do to help ensure your child does his/her best:

1 - Make every effort to have your child present and on time on each of these dates.

2 - Be sure your child gets a good night's rest the night before each test.

3 - Feed them a good breakfast on the morning of testing.

4 - Make every effort to keep their morning as calm as possible. They have grown a ton this year and are ready to do amazing on these tests.

5 - Remind them of the following:

• Read everything more than once.
• Work out your math problems on paper and use scratch paper to take notes etc.
• Take your time. The test is not timed so there is no need to rush.
• Do everything you know for sure first and then go back and work on problems that give them a little more trouble.

Good Afternoon,

We had a packed but great week at BES. Monday was our IDEALS Music Spring Concert. They did a great job. Tuesday, we hosted a Rising 3rd Grader Parent Meeting. We had a great turn out and enjoyed getting to meet some of our sweet rising 3rd graders. Thursday was our first day of state testing. Our kids worked so very hard!! Friday was the last day or our After School Program for the year.

This week is the week that our district designated as Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you to our PTO and several local churches for helping us celebrate our teachers this week. Thank you to all of you that have already sent in sweet little surprises for your child's teacher. Your kindness and support is appreciated more than you know.
