Superintendent's Monthly Update

Monthly Message
Dear BASD Families,
There is a special energy that comes with the start of a new school year, and we are thrilled to have your children back in our classrooms. Now, as fall energy surrounds us, the classrooms are filled with excitement and anticipation for the year of learning and growth ahead. As a district, we continue to embrace our mission: "To inspire and prepare today's learners to embrace tomorrow's challenges".
This important work is only possible thanks to our incredible team of educators, administrators, and support staff. I am continually impressed by their dedication and expertise. They are always working hard preparing engaging lessons and welcoming environments to ensure every student has the best possible school experience.
We believe that strong partnerships between home and school are the foundation of a thriving learning environment. Your involvement is a critical part of your child's success, and we are committed to maintaining open, honest, and ongoing communication with you. We encourage you to engage with your child's teachers, attend school events, and reach out any time you need assistance. Your voice and perspective are invaluable to us.
This monthly newsletter is intended to stay in touch and provide information you might not see elsewhere in the District. Please know it is a work in progress and I welcome your feedback as I further develop the content and style of this communication. Future content will include information on the Board of Directors, School Finance, Advocacy, and parent resources.
Sincerely,
Dr. R.

Parent Advisory Committee
The District Parent Advisory Committee will begin meeting again soon. I appreciate amount of interest in this group. My goal is to maintain a diverse group of parents to hold effective meetings with meaningful outcomes. I will also be exploring ways of sharing those outcomes with all parents who are not involved.
New School Update
Work on the new school is proceeding on schedule and very smoothly. Excitement and anticipation are growing as we approach completion. Click HERE to see the latest construction update. Administration meets weekly to discuss details of this complex transition. As we get closer to completion, those details will be shared with staff and parents. For now, I do want you to know that Mr. Baughman and Mr. Park will be sharing principal responsibilities for the new school. Mr. Park will administer grades K-2 programs while Mr. Baughman will administer grades 3-5 programs. Please know that both principals are committed to working together for a smooth opening and for the betterment of staff and students.
