Dear MacArthur Families,

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Penny War! Thanks to your generosity, we raised $2,497.07 to donate to the Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation. The winning class was Mrs. McClelland’s 2nd grade classroom. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Larson and our National Elementary Honor Society for coordinating this wonderful philanthropic activity, and to Mrs. Santostefano for taking the coins to the bank each day to be counted.

We’d also like to thank everyone who donated candy for our PTO Trunk or Treat event this evening and to those decorating a car for this fun celebration. A big thank-you to our amazing PTO for sponsoring this great family event!

MAC PTO presents Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 24th from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Mac parking lot. Enjoy food trucks including Dan’s Pierogies, Fun Times Cotton Candy, Damos Dogs, and NV Donuts (please be prepared with cash and/or card for food purchases). Admission is free, and the event will feature candy, food trucks, a DJ/dance party, and best costume and trunk awards. Please note this is not a public event—it is for Mac families only.

Our teachers are lifelong learners! This week, our educators participated in professional development to enhance their skills and even bring better learning experiences to our students. From new teaching strategies to the latest educational tools, our staff is committed to continuous growth.

And they made it fun too--some even dressed up as pigs to bring extra energy and creativity to the morning! We're proud of our dedicated teachers who invest in their own learning to make a difference in the classroom every day. Thank you for your commitment to excellence!

Firefighter Holsti visited MacArthur’s Kindergarten and 1st grade classes for a fire safety presentation!

Our halls were filled with love, laughter, and lots of smiles as students welcomed their grandparents for an afternoon of fun and memories! Thank you to everyone who made this special day so grand!
