UPDATES!! September
Dear Families,
As we start our second week of school I would like to share a quick update about our kitchen project! Construction has begun and the project is moving along nicely. Our lunch periods have been unaffected by the construction as we continue with our normal cafeteria procedures. Students have been having PE outdoors and our after and before care (ITAV) is set up at Whitehall Elem. I will continue to send updates as the project moves along. This past week the front of the building was addressed and this work will continue into the upcoming weeks. We ask that all families please take note of the additional fencing and signage we have put out as it is in place to ensure a smooth project and the safety of our students first! If you have any questions at all, please contact me as I am happy to address them. As we plan for school wide events we may be looking at alternate venues due to the construction. We will, however, continue to plan for school wide events that bring our students and families together. More to come as invitations are shared. Thank you again for your flexibility during this project.

Dear Cole Manor Families,I am excited to share that Cole Manor will be getting a new kitchen this year. There has been a great deal of planning around this project and final approvals are now in place. I would therefore like to share how this will impact the first half of the school year while the kitchen is under construction. How will the project affect lunch and breakfast? ¿Cómo afectará el proyecto al almuerzo y al desayuno?
The project will not impact our breakfast and lunch program. Students will continue to have breakfast in classrooms and lunch in the All Purpose Room. Lunch lines will be set up in the APR and we will continue to have hot food items during the project. Menus will outline this as in past years. We are 100% committed to maintaining the amazing lunch program we offer in NASD!
El proyecto no afectará nuestro programa de desayuno y almuerzo. Los estudiantes continuarán desayunando en los salones de clase y almorzando en el salón de usos múltiples. Se establecerán filas para el almuerzo en la APR y continuaremos teniendo alimentos calientes durante el proyecto.
Los menús describirán esto como en años anteriores. ¡Estamos 100% comprometidos a mantener el increíble programa de almuerzo que ofrecemos en NASD!Will my child be near any construction? ¿Estará mi hija cerca de cualquier construcción?(
The areas under construction will be separated 100% to ensure there is no cross over as students use the APR. There will be some equipment on site outside, however, it will not interfere with our daily activities.

The It Takes A Village Program will continue but will be held at Whitehall Elementary. The staff from ITAV will be in touch with all parents explaining the process.
Will the students still have gym? ¿Las estudiantes todavía tendrán gimnasio?(
Yes! The students will have PE outside as long as weather permits. On days that weather does not permit they will have health lessons in the classroom. We will do PE outside as much as possible as we know how important it is for the students to take part in physical activities during the week. Please be sure students have proper attire for outside PE classes based on the weather. We will not go outside if it is raining, too hot or too cold.
¡Sí! Los estudiantes tendrán educación física afuera siempre que el clima lo permita. Los días que el clima no lo permita tendrán lecciones de salud en el aula. Haremos educación física al aire libre tanto como sea posible, ya que sabemos lo importante que es para los estudiantes participar en actividades físicas durante la semana. Asegúrese de que los estudiantes tengan la vestimenta adecuada para las clases de educación física al aire libre según el clima.
