PBIS Focus of the Week: Using Kind Words
This week, our school community is highlighting how we use Kind Words to demonstrate our core values: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. We are teaching students that the words we choose have the power to lift others up, resolve conflicts peacefully, and build a welcoming environment for everyone. From offering a sincere compliment in the hallway to using polite language on the playground, speaking with kindness shows respect for our peers and responsibility for the tone we set in our school community.
You can support this effort at home by encouraging positive communication during family conversations. Try pointing out when your child uses encouraging language, practices active listening, or uses "I" statements when expressing frustration. Praising their use of considerate words helps reinforce that kindness is a powerful habit that extends far beyond the classroom.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in nurturing respectful, responsible, and safe leaders every day!
