Attendance Attendance

Hello CCSLHS Families

Changes to our Attendance Policy

Student attendance is crucial to academic success, and we greatly appreciate your efforts in ensuring that students are present during school hours. To support their education, we kindly ask that family vacations be scheduled outside of school days whenever possible.

Our goal is to maintain a 95% daily attendance rate for the year.

Every student has a chromebook at CCSL. They should be bringing that to school every day and not using other devices as it can interfere with our current technology. Please help us keep these devices at home. It has been in our Acceptable Use Policy for the past five year. Students bring these so they can avoid being detected on inappropriate sites, texting, and social media use. The use of these devices have increased significantly since returning back last week. These devices will follow the same rule as the cell phone devices if they are being used in the classroom or hallways during school hours. If you need a reminder on our cell phone policy it is below. Thank you for your help in this.

Why Being On Time Matters – New Procedures After the Break

Students, being on time to class is more than just a rule—it’s a habit that sets you up for success. Every minute counts, and arriving late means missing valuable instruction, disrupting your classmates, and falling behind. Starting right after the Break, we will be implementing a new process to ensure everyone is ready to learn when the bell rings.

Here’s What You Need to Know:

  • Doors Close at the Bell: Once the bell rings, classroom doors will be shut. Teachers will not allow you in without a pass.
  • Late? Head Straight to the Main Office: If you arrive after the bell, go directly to the main office to get a pass. Do not wander or stop elsewhere—get your pass and return to class immediately.
  • Consequences for Being Late:
    • Within 7 Minutes: If you’re not in class within the first 5 minutes, you will receive an afterschool detention to make up the lost time with the teacher
    • More Than 7 Minutes Late: If you arrive more than 7 minutes late, you will be assigned Saturday School.
  • No Exceptions: Teachers cannot let you in without a pass once the door is closed.

Bottom Line:

Do not be late. Plan ahead, move quickly between classes, and make punctuality a priority. If you are late, go straight to the office, get your pass, and return to class immediately. Let’s work together to make every minute count!

Music Room at Lunch Music Room at Lunch

To those students who have been coming to the music room for the music lunch club there will be a limit of 10 students allowed in the music room starting on Monday, every other day, three lunches per week. Thank you for your understanding!

Wednesday next week we will have some seniors to view Worcester State University. See your counselor for information.

A few reminders:

  • Senior Dues are $250 to include prom, senior week activities, yearbook, hoodie, graduation costs, etc.
    • If you are NOT going to prom, your dues reduce to $150.

    • See Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Sokolski or Mr. Cameron if you have any questions or concerns about senior dues.
  • Grad Bash deposit of $200 is due by Monday, December 1st. This is TWO weeks away – the Monday after Thanksgiving Break. Please see Mrs. Sokolski or Mr. Cameron if you feel you will have an issue meeting this deadline.
