Academy Announcements

Dear Academy families and friends,

Happy Holiday Weekend,

For starters this week, we should start with a reminder that tomorrow is a full day of professional development for the WPS staff, so no school for the students, making this a very short week when kids return on Wednesday.

Last week, we had two field trips, a walking school bus and so many great things happening around campus in our classrooms. As the year continues to unfold, we recognize just how important communication is, so please be sure to read these weekly announcements, explore the different buttons below, as well as follow us on social media...this just in we may be adding instagram as an option as well. More to come!

This past week, we recognized our new members of the Academy Ambassador, composed of student leaders from the 4th and 5th grade classes. They will be helping with adding student voice to our improvement process as well as leadership service to our school. We were very excited to announce their names at the first ROAR (Respect, Ownership, Achievement, Responsibility) celebration this past Friday...where we also acknowledged our monthly Peacebuilder Stars (more pictures on Facebook, coming out soon).

Last but not least, we are happy to announce the return of three wonderful Academy activities, the Running Club (Grades 3-5), the 5th Grade Media Club and the Pumpkin & Poems Contest. More info will be coming home soon!!!

Thanks for all of the support!

Mr. Higgins
