Eagle Express

Eagle Express
Dear Arrowwood Families,
As we head into this well-deserved hiatus, I want to take a moment to express how incredibly proud I am of the progress our students have made since January. Their hard work, creativity, and energy have made our building come alive with excitement. Whether you are traveling, visiting family, or enjoying a "staycation" right here at home, I hope this week provides everyone in our community a chance to unplug, recharge, and enjoy some quality time with loved ones.
When we return to school, we move into a very important season for our Eagles. Starting April 8th, we will begin the M-STEP and MI-Access state assessments. While "testing" can sometimes feel a bit daunting, we like to view these assessments as a chance for our students to show off everything they’ve learned this year. These results help us understand how to better support our students and celebrate their growth as learners.
To help our students shine, we encourage you to focus on the "Big Three" during testing weeks:
Be Present: Attendance is key! Being in school on time helps students stay relaxed and on track with their peers.
Be Rested: A good night’s sleep is the secret weapon for focus and stamina.
Be Encouraged: Remind your child that these tests are simply a snapshot of their skills. As long as they do their best, we are already proud of them.
Enjoy every minute of your break! We can’t wait to see those refreshed, smiling faces back in the building. Let’s finish this school year stronger than ever.
Make it a great break, Eagles!

What's Happening Around Arrowwood?
Believe. Achieve. Soar on Spring Assessments
The ultimate challenge is almost here, and we need your alliance on this journey! This April, our Eagles are taking on state assessments (M-STEP and MI Access). The best way you can support your favorite contestant is by making sure they are present, rested, and ready to show what they can do.
Here is the testing schedule for our grade-level tribes:
3rd & 4th Grade Tribe: April 8th & 10th (ELA & Math)
5th Grade Tribe: April 9th, 14th, 15th, & 16th (ELA, Math, Science, & Social Studies)
To give every student the best possible environment to outwit, outstudy, and outshine this challenge, we ask that you avoid scheduling appointments or optional absences on these critical days.
With our whole tribe working together, we know our students will Believe, Achieve, and Soar! The tribe has spoken. Go Eagles!

Book Fair is coming!
Dear families,
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to build your child’s home library with new books they’ll dive into again and again. The easiest way to let your child shop the Fair independently is by creating an eWallet. It’s easy to set up and easy for others to add funds.
Create an eWallet, and you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to Share the Fair - the giving program that supports students at our school who need help buying books. Consider participating so that no child leaves the Fair empty-handed! Here’s everything else you need to know about the Book Fair: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/arrowwoodelementaryschool
Dates: April 13-17, 2026
Location: Library during school hours
More than ever, we need to get students reading. Studies prove* that children with more books at home have higher-level reading skills, and attain more years of education overall. Lastly, this is a great opportunity to be a Book Fair volunteer! When you give your time, it helps make our Fair an unforgettable reading experience where every purchase benefits our school directly.
Happy reading!
