Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
BHS students remain busy this week as the end of the first quarter is quickly approaching. Both boys’ and girls’ soccer celebrated senior nights, and students are gearing up for a fun-filled week of homecoming celebrations. This newsletter contains some important information/links to help navigate our upcoming busy week. Please take some time to look over both the “Batavia Homecoming 2025 Information” link and the “Upcoming Important Dates” section.
As a reminder, we only have four school days next week. There will be no school for students on Friday, October 10th and Monday, October 13th. Please check your student’s grades and help encourage them to complete any missing assignments.
Our workforce experiences continue to expand for BHS students. Take a look at some of the photos from our Ohio Concrete Lunch and Learn and the county-wide Future Forward Conference which was hosted on our campus!
We hope everyone has a restful weekend in anticipation of an exciting homecoming week!
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Families,
It’s hard to believe that we are already coming up on the end of the first quarter next week on Oct. 9th. Remind your student(s) that if they have any missing work that is able to be made up, to do so.
Also, homecoming week begins next week. Huge shout out to Mrs. Welch and Ms. Jump for coordinating the week's activities for our students.
Lastly, the weather continues to be great this time of year. Hopefully, everyone gets the chance to enjoy it.
Thank you, and have a nice weekend.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students

The FAFSA Application opens October 1!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
