AVA Family UpdateDecember 14, 2025

Good morning AVA students and families,

The schedule, guidance updates, community updates, and important dates are all below as per usual.

All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students should read Ms. Ng's Guidance Update below, as identifying next year's plans are important for any student who plans to (or is even considering) return to the High School. You will need to let us know your intentions to ensure you don't get shut out of scheduling timelines at AHS.

As we head towards break, students (especially those who have fallen behind) should take advantage of the ability to make progress in Edgenuity while school is not in session. Students who experience locked tests or need assistance should email me directly during vacations and holidays. I don't check my email constantly, but I do it often enough that students can continue to make good progress and not be left waiting until the teachers return to move forward.

Thank you for your time.

Next Year Plans

AHS student course requests for next year will begin starting next week. AVA students (non-seniors) and families who intend to enroll back on campus next year should complete this quick Next Year Plans Survey. Ms. Nellie will follow up soon after submitting the survey about the AHS course request process.

FAFSA

Reminder: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is still currently open, and any AVA senior thinking about or have/will apply to any college or trade school should complete the FAFSA form. Everything needed can be done 100% online. Class of 2026 will complete the FAFSA 2026-2027 form. Be sure to first create an FSA ID if you do not have one. Students and at least one parent must each create an individual FSA ID in order to digitally sign and complete the FAFSA. The AHS Guidance Dept. will host a FAFSA help night in January (details TBD), but please email Ms Nellie anytime with any questions or for support.

Need help completing FAFSA?

The AHS Guidance Dept. will be hosting a Financial Aid Night on AHS campus on Thursday, January 15th from 4pm-7pm. Free pizza dinner will be provided! Registration is required, so please click HERE to register and for the digital flyer with more details.

As always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have a lovely weekend!

The District AI Task Force is launching a short survey to learn how families are using artificial intelligence, what questions you may have, and what supports would be most helpful. Your feedback will help the district create clear expectations, build shared understanding, and ensure our approach to AI is safe, responsible, and aligned with community needs.

Please take a few minutes to complete the Family AI Survey at the link below. Thank you for contributing your voice.
