Westminster Public Schools is building a new Flynn/Shaw PK–8 campus, opening in fall 2028.
To prepare for construction, Flynn students and staff will join Shaw for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 school years.

Shaw Heights Middle School Butter Braid Fundraiser

We’re excited to kick off our Butter Braid Pastry fundraiser! Here are the important dates:

• Start Date: Wednesday, October 29

• End Date: Wednesday, November 12

• Submit Orders By: Thursday, November 13

• Delivery Date & Time: Tuesday, November 18 at 12:00 PM

Our goal is to raise funds for future events — and if we make enough, possibly even a school-wide field trip!

This Veterans Day, we honor and thank all veterans for their courage, dedication, and selfless service to our country. Your sacrifices have protected our freedoms and made our nation stronger. • Families will receive an email this week from Powerschool Unified Classroom Behavior.

• The email includes Access Codes and instructions to download the Powerschool App.

• Please download the App and check your child’s behavior daily.

• Use the App to:

• Stay up to date on your child’s progress

• See how your child earns Falcon Points

• Communicate directly with teachers

• Take a few minutes to talk with your child about how they earn Falcon Points and why it’s important to follow school rules and expectations.

On Monday, November 3, the District announced plans for a state-of-the-art PK–8 campus, set to open in the fall of 2028. This $40 million project will bring together John E. Flynn A Marzano Academy and Shaw Heights Middle School to form a unified CTE–STEM campus, designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and expanded learning opportunities for all students.

Construction is scheduled to begin next year. During this time, all Flynn students and staff will relocate to the Shaw Heights building, which has recently undergone significant renovations and offers ample space to accommodate additional students and programs.

To share more details, answer questions, and gather valuable family input, the District will host a Family Feedback Night on Thursday, November 13, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Shaw Heights. We encourage all families to attend and learn more about this exciting next chapter for our community.

November is recognized as Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, histories, and contributions of Native American peoples across the United States. This month provides an opportunity to reflect on the resilience and achievements of Indigenous communities, as well as to raise awareness about the challenges they continue to face. It is a time to learn from their stories, appreciate their artistry and knowledge, and acknowledge the vital role Native Americans have played—and continue to play—in shaping the nation’s history and culture. Recognizing this month encourages respect, understanding, and the preservation of Native American heritage for generations to come.
