It was a beautiful blue sky day on Wednesday when our 1st and 2nd Grade families joined us for Lunch on the Lawn! Students were thrilled to spread out their picnic blankets, share their lunchtime, and soak up the sunshine alongside their loved ones. Thank you to all the parents, guardians, and family members who took time out of their day to make the event so special. Seeing our school community connect and laugh together on the field was a true highlight of the week—we are already looking forward to our next family gathering!

As of today, Breeze Hill has raised over $22,000 in net profit! That means we are getting closer and closer to pieing Mr. Reese in the face! There are still 6 days left to raise funds.

Please register your student, even if you do not plan to fundraise. Simply registering helps lower the cost of the running trackers and t-shirts for the PTA, allowing us to keep more profit for our school!

We are proud to announce that Breeze Hill Elementary has been officially recognized as a 2026 Educational Results Partnership (ERP) Honor Roll STAR School!

This marks the second year in a row and third time overall that Breeze Hill has earned this prestigious statewide distinction. The STAR School designation recognizes high-performing schools where at least 33% of students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, celebrating outstanding student academic achievement and progress.

Out of eligible schools statewide, only about 24% earned a spot on this year's Honor Roll. This achievement reflects the incredible dedication, hard work, and collaboration of our students, teachers, staff, and families.

Congratulations to our entire Breeze Hill community on this well-deserved honor! To see the full list of recognized schools, visit honorrollschools.com/lists.

We are excited to share that the California Department of Education has released the latest California School Dashboard and CAASPP Assessment results.

Understanding the California School Dashboard

The California School Dashboard is an online tool designed to give parents and community members a clear, comprehensive look at how schools are performing beyond a single test score. Instead of letter grades, the Dashboard evaluates school performance using a color-coded rating system ranging from Red (lowest) to Blue (highest), with Green representing high performance and strong progress towards state standards. The Dashboard measures multiple aspects of school success, including:

  • Academic Achievement: Performance on state assessments in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science.

  • School Climate & Engagement: Attendance and suspension rates.

  • Language Acquisition: Progress made by English Learner students.

Celebrating Breeze Hill's Success! 🌟

We are proud of the hard work shown by our students, teachers, and staff! On the newly released California Dashboard:

  • Green Level in ELA & Math: Breeze Hill Elementary achieved a Green performance level in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics.

  • Outperforming the State Average: Breeze Hill outperformed the overall California state average across nearly all evaluated categories.

  • Strong School Climate: Breeze Hill also earned a Green performance rating for low suspension rates.

Thank you to our amazing families for your continued partnership, support, and involvement in helping our students thrive. To view the full Breeze Hill report and explore the data, you can visit the California School Dashboard.

Recently, we have noticed an increase in students bringing personal toys to school—including NeeDohs/fidgets, action figures, plush toys, and personal sports equipment.

While we love seeing our students' creativity and playfulness, special personal items brought to school can easily become misplaced, lost, traded, or damaged during the school day. We want to prevent hurt feelings and keep your child’s favorite items safe at home! Additionally, extra items in backpacks and classrooms can create unintended distractions during learning time.

How you can help:

Please take a moment to review this rule with your child and do a quick backpack check together before leaving for school each morning.

Thank you so much for your partnership in helping us keep our school environment focused, safe, and fun for everyone!

Breeze Hill will serve as a San Diego County polling place October 31 - November 3. Please be aware this may affect traffic especially during arrival and dismissal. We anticipate higher than normal traffic on election day on Tuesday, November 3. We ask that our families take extra precaution and care in our parking lot.

We ask for your continued partnership in reinforcing our Pillars and promoting positive behavior across campus. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By working together, we can ensure a positive and nurturing school culture for every member of our community.

1. Be Welcoming - say hello and greet others on campus; be accepting of others; share materials; and be a good listener.

2. Do No Harm - put your materials away; take care of your materials; throw trash away; keep hands and feet to yourself..

3. Use Choice Words - wait your turn to speak; use quiet/inside voices; respond kindly; and use polite language when speaking to adults.

4. Never Too Late to Learn - follow directions the first time; help others; use your best effort; and be prepared to Learn.

These 4 Pillars , when followed purposefully, lead us to the last pillar which makes us THE BEST SCHOOL IN THE UNIVERSE!
