Friday, September 4th is the first home football game at WHS. Please understand that this is an extension of the school day since it is a school sponsored event and all school rules/expectations are in place. Which means Administration does have the right to remove students from the game and/or ban from attending future games if necessary.

Tickets: $8 for Adults, $6 for Students

Expectations at the Football Game:

  • NO Backpacks allowed in the game!!!
  • Students are expected to sit and watch the game. If students do not want to do that, we ask that they do not attend.
  • Running around, playing tag, and dumping/throwing food and/or water bottles will not be allowed and students will be asked to leave and maybe banned from attending future games.
  • Middle school students will either sit with their parents or sit in bleachers in the south end zone area at all home football games.
  • Students must be picked up immediately after the game.
  • Referrals happening at WMS can affect the attendance at WHS activities.
  • Remember to be a good representation of yourself, our school, and our community!!

Students will be completing the MAP test the next two weeks. These will be completed in their Math and Language Arts classes. Students should be charging their iPads at night and bringing their charger with them for these tests.

It is important for students to do their best on these tests as we use them to show their individual progress, as well as letting teachers know what they do not know and what they are ready to learn!

Medications at School Medications at School

All medications must be stored in and administered by the health office. Students may not carry any medications, including over-the-counter drugs like Advil or Tylenol.

To store medications in the health office for your student:

  • Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medications: Parents must submit a signed Medication Authorization Form. Parent signatures are valid for up to two weeks; a provider’s signature is required for the entire school year.

  • Prescription Medications: Requires a formal provider authorization. Your provider can fax an authorization letter directly to the health office, which remains valid for the full school year.

  • The only exception to this medication policy is the medication self carry rules for emergency rescue medication for diabetes, asthma, severe allergy, or seizures, and there is a form to fill out for self carry permission for those special circumstances.

Tardy To Class Tardy To Class

Starting Monday, August 24th we will start counting students tardy if they are not in the classroom when the bell rings. Students have had over a week to practice their schedule. There are many adults in the hallways that can still help students if they get lost. Below is the information about our tardy to class consequences.

To set up these controls, please use the following guidelines to access your student's account. If you have any questions or need support, please contact Ms. Saetveit, the WMS librarian, at 402-408-8662.

Great Plains Middle School Boys Volleyball League Great Plains Middle School Boys Volleyball League

Great Plains Boys Volleyball League provides a low-cost, low-commitment opportunity for boys who are interested in playing volleyball to compete. We welcome all skill levels for male athletes who are in Grades 3-7 to play in our Middle School League. The League will meet 1x per week throughout October. The first two weeks will primarily be skill work, and the last two weeks will be primarily live play. There will be two locations athletes can register for: a Lincoln League and an Omaha League.

I have attached a flyer we would love if you could share with students at your school! On the flyer is a QR code that will take them directly to the landing page of our Middle School Boys Volleyball League, and there they can find the League schedule as well as the link to register.
