Congratulations to our Power of the Pen teams who competed in the Regional Competition Saturday, March 1st. The 8th grade team earned 1st overall as a team. Top 12 placers included 7th grader Brynne Edwards in 11th and 8th grader Alayna Owens in 10th. The school combined score (both grades) placed GMS 2nd overall at the Regional. We will know all the state qualifiers within a week and are incredibly optimistic based on the scores that we will have several more representing GMS at the state level.

Congratulations to our students who qualified for the Upper Miami Valley Regional Science Fair that took place Saturday. Mallorie Erter, Piper Jacobs, Carly Birchfield & Jenna Johnston, as well as Mackenzie Crooks represented GMS. Carly & Jenna received a "Superior" rating and are headed to the state competition in May! They also received 1st place in the Environmental Science category earning them a $100 cash award.

Current grade 6 and grade 7 students have started the scheduling process for the next school year. Presentations were given in class this week from our counselor Mrs. Smith. All students should have brought home course request forms.

Thank you once again to all who participated in the NJHS Cereal Box Drive. As a building, 124 boxes were brought in that will be donated to the local food pantry. Congratulations to Mrs. McGuire’s class who earned the top spot with 29 boxes turned in. Mrs. Bogg’s homeroom took second with 22 boxes and Mr. Wagner’s homeroom brought in 10. Boggs and McGuire’s homerooms will receive free Kona Ice this month!

Congratulations to the middle school FFA members that attended the Wilmington College Aggies General Livestock Judging Invitational last Wednesday. The team placed 3rd out of 13 teams. There were 116 individuals that judged this contest. Malynn Bacher placed 3rd, Layne Barger placed 10th, Reese Maurice placed 23rd, Audrey Krieger placed 32nd and Katherine McAlexander placed 35th.

Applications are live for the 2025 Summer Aircamp. Applications are going to be accepted until April 15th. We have had several GMS students participate in the past and all have said it was an incredible experience.

Students all have access to Progress Book via their Clever logins. Parents can access through the same login they would have used last year. Any new families should have received an access key on Friday via email from Mr. Guidera.

Frontline Education has released the Progress Book Parent and Student Mobile App (aka Parent Access app) to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This app is available for your parents/students to download and use now. For those that choose to download, the app takes the place of the mobile web version of Parent Access that parents and students have long used. In addition, Frontline has produced an overview video that can be shared with your users.
