We REACH for Excellence! We REACH for Excellence!

Happy New Year, Nob Hill Families and Community Partners!

We hope the New Year has started off well for you and that the winter break provided time to rest, recharge, and reconnect. As we welcome students back to Nob Hill, we are excited to begin this new year together with renewed energy, purpose, and commitment to our students and community.

The start of a new year is a natural time for reflection and a fresh start. As we return to school routines, our staff will be taking time to revisit school and classroom expectations with students. This helps ensure a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment where all students feel confident and ready to learn. Clear expectations and strong relationships are key to student success, and we appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these at home and throughout our community.

Thank you to our families and community partners for your continued support of Nob Hill. Your involvement, encouragement, and collaboration make a meaningful difference for our students each and every day. We look forward to a wonderful year ahead and appreciate being part of such a caring and connected community.

Warm regards,

Craig Smith
Principal, Nob Hill Elementary

Faith Based Organizations Faith Based Organizations

Please help us keep all students safe during pick-up and drop-off. We are asking that no cars park in any areas marked in red on the map. These areas are restricted to ensure students do not cross the street without using a designated crosswalk.

Additionally, the employee parking lot on 32nd Ave is not a pick-up location. This lot is reserved for staff and for two of our buses, and we need to keep it clear for their use. Thank you for being respectful to our staff and other families during this busy time of day, and for helping us keep dismissal efficient and safe for all Nob Hill students and families!

If you have any questions, please reach out to the office.

Student Safety Reminder Student Safety Reminder

The safety of our students is always our top priority. We kindly ask that all visitors check in at the school office upon arrival and wear a visitor badge at all times while on campus.

If you are interested in volunteering in classrooms or supporting school events, a completed background check is required. Paperwork is available in the school office—our staff is happy to assist you.

For students arriving late to school, please sign them in at the office. To support student independence and minimize disruptions, we ask that families do not walk students to their classrooms; students may walk independently.

If you would like to meet with a teacher, please schedule an appointment in advance to ensure they are available and able to give you their full attention.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the school office. Thank you for partnering with us to keep Nob Hill safe and welcoming for all.

Lost and Found and Labeling Clothes Lost and Found and Labeling Clothes

As the weather gets colder, we want to remind families to please label your student’s hats, gloves, coats, and sweatshirts with their name. This simple step helps us return lost items quickly and prevents our Lost and Found from overflowing.

We do not have enough space to hold all unclaimed clothing, and an excessive amount of items can create safety concerns in our building. To help manage this, we donate unclaimed Lost and Found items to Goodwill at the end of each month. Before we donate, we will send a ParentSquare reminder so families have a chance to check for missing items.

We will be making our next donation on January 30 , so please take a moment to check our Lost and Found before then.

Nob Hill Snow Policy – Keeping Students Safe and Warm Nob Hill Snow Policy – Keeping Students Safe and Warm

As winter weather arrives, we want to remind families of our snow policy to ensure all students stay safe, warm, and have fun outside during recess.

Dressing for the Weather:
Students are expected to come to school dressed appropriately for winter conditions. This includes:

  • Coat

  • Gloves

  • Snow boots

Reminder: Please label all student coats, hats, gloves, and other winter gear so lost items can be returned quickly.

Snow Play Guidelines:

To enjoy the snow safely, students must follow these expectations:

  • Walking in the snow: Snow boots are required. Students without boots may play on the blacktop areas.

  • Rolling in the snow: Snow pants are required.

  • Playing with snow (making snowballs, snow people, forts): Gloves are required.

Students who do not follow these guidelines may get wet as the snow melts. The school will not call parents to bring a change of clothes because this disrupts instruction and staff cannot assist with clothing changes. If your child has a medical condition requiring a change of clothes, please notify your child’s teacher and send one extra set of clothing in their backpack.

Safety Rules During Snowy Conditions:

  • No kicking or throwing snow or ice at people or buildings

  • No sliding on ice or snow with feet

  • No climbing slick/icy snow mounds

  • No tackling, “King of the Mountain,” or similar games

  • No destroying other students’ snow creations

Students are reminded of snow expectations regularly and are taught these rules multiple times per year.

We encourage all Nob Hill students to have fun in the snow safely by building forts, snow sculptures, and snow people while following these guidelines.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe, warm, and ready to enjoy the winter season!
