Mission Valley Elementary

A Message From Your Principal
Dearest Mission Valley Community,
As we step into the month of November, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and involvement in our school community. This is a time of year when we reflect on the many blessings in our lives, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated families who play a vital role in the success of our students.
November is always a busy month, and this year is no exception. We are excited for the upcoming opportunities for growth and learning, and we want to highlight a few key events and initiatives:
1. No Absences November
Students who attend every school day in November will be entered into a drawing, and THREE LUCKY WINNERS - one from the elementary school level, one from middle school level, and one from the high school level - will enjoy a FREE PROFESSIONAL FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT valued at over $300.
2. Interim Testing
Our 3rd-5th grade students will be taking their Interim test in reading and math. It is extremely important that they are present and try their absolute best on both assessments. The results from these tests will help us gather information to see where your child is at this point in the school year and what adjustments we need to make so that they show academic growth and reach their goal.
3. Thanksgiving Holiday
Please note that our school will be closed for the Thanksgiving break from November 25th to November 29th. We hope you enjoy this time with your loved ones and take a well-deserved rest. We are thankful for each of our students and their families, and let's give thanks with a grateful heart.
4. Character Education Focus: Gratitude
As part of our ongoing character education program, this month’s focus is on gratitude. We will be discussing the importance of giving thanks, being mindful of others, and showing appreciation for the good things in our lives. We encourage you to continue these conversations at home and help your child recognize the value of gratitude in their everyday lives. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or to any member of our staff. Your feedback is essential in helping us create the best possible learning environment for our students.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we will ensure that our students not only excel academically but also grow into thoughtful, compassionate individuals who are prepared for the future. Our commitment is every educator, every student, every day!
Respectfully - Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. Rubina Flores-Jurado
