The Rhodes Ahead

From Mrs. Rhodes

Snow days are a fun surprise and I joke that I always have a can of paint ready should we get one, I am glad that we don't do on line days or other such things. Just an update, the Archdiocese has decided to decrease the number of required hours for this year by one day (we require a few more days that the state asks for), so at this point we do not have to make any up.

CPS is hosting an evening for parents to learn from each other, enjoy good conversation and have fun. Just in time for Lent, the Faith and Community night will be on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 in the library.

It will be very low key with some appetizers (feel free to bring your favorite happy hour drink) and then you can chose which stations you visit for a short presentation on one of the five foundation stones or other domestic church topics. There will be a Lent craft that help you prepare your home for the liturgical season coming up in March.

With peers presenting, we hope that you will be comfortable asking questions. There are things that we want to know but feel that it may be a silly question - like how do you start Adoration, does it need to be for an hour, what if I fall asleep, etc.

Grab some friends and come hang out. We promise there will be good conversation. Here is the link to sign up again:

Talent Show is Coming

If your student is interested in participating, please complete the link: https://forms.gle/b5Kp9yt57wdxDvqE6.

The Talent Show is Friday, March 14 at 1:30pm in the MPC.

We require that you send a short recording of the performance. Similar to last year, this will replace the in-person auditions that have been held in the past.

One video is needed for each act. The easiest way to do this is to create a video, upload it to Google drive and send it to me in an email. If you don't have a Google account, you can also try attaching it to a regular email.

Audition videos can be sent shared with/sent to david.gaustad@faculty.shoj.org.

Videos should include all components of the act, but for large groups, they do not need to include all of the members. If your act has song lyrics, I MUST receive a copy or link to them during the audition process.

The deadline for sign-ups for the Talent Show will be next Friday, February 21. The deadline to submit audition videos is Friday, February 28. If you experience technical difficulties and cannot submit a video, please contact me and we can make other arrangements.

I look forward to a great show this year.

Mr. David Gaustad
