Dear Families,

Happy spring! This time of year brings lots of energy and events - make sure to read below about all the fun we have in store at Lowell! At the same time, we want to make sure we’re maintaining routines and keeping our attention focused on our learning - our Lions still have lots to do in our fourth quarter!

We were lucky to receive grant funds to provide a picnic dinner at our Lowellabration event at Worthington Park on June 5th - we will have a dinner available for any student or family member in attendance (until we run out!). See below for more information.

You may have seen the news this week, but I want to share that I am deeply saddened and frustrated by the recent decision to terminate all AmeriCorps State and National Competitive grant awards, effective immediately. This impacts Lowell directly, as the Schools of Hope program officially ended on Friday, May 2nd. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Ms. Kathy Esposito, who has done an outstanding job supporting our students and coordinating volunteers. While our dedicated volunteers can continue to come to school, Kathy will no longer be coordinating their efforts.

At Lowell, we’re nurturing your students’ gifts and inspiring their learning within our joyful community, knowing that these Lions are our collective future. As always, reach out with any questions.

Warmly,

Ellen
