Class Dojo
Welcome to Kindergarten! Stay Connected with ClassDojo 🍎
Dear Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to our classroom community! Kindergarten is a year full of milestone moments, new friendships, and exciting discoveries. To help you stay connected to your child’s daily adventures, our class will be using ClassDojo.
ClassDojo is a free, secure app that acts as a window into our school day. It makes it easy for us to communicate and share your child’s growth throughout the year.
How We Will Use ClassDojo:
Class Story (Our Virtual Classroom): I will post photos, videos, and whole-class updates here. You can look through these together with your child to start fun conversations about what they learned each day! If you do not want your child's picture shared, please let us know.
Direct Messaging: Need to send a quick note about an absence, pickup change, or ask a question? You can message me privately through the app. The app also offers built-in, automatic language translation.
Student Portfolios: You’ll be able to view photos of your child's individual artwork, writing, and hands-on projects as they build their personal portfolio.
Positive Feedback & Points: Students will earn digital "Dojo Points" for positive habits like sharing, working hard, and showing kindness. You can check in anytime to celebrate their achievements!
How to Get Started (3 Easy Steps):
Download the App: Search for ClassDojo in the App Store or Google Play Store (or visit www.classdojo.com).
Create an Account: Sign up as a Parent. Use the free version.
Connect to Our Class: Use the unique QR code or parent code attached to this page to link directly to your child's profile.
Please connect as soon as possible so you don't miss any important announcements! If you have any trouble setting up your account, please let me know—I am happy to help.
I am so excited to partner with you for a wonderful kindergarten year!

Counselor's Corner
Hi Pine Lane Families!
My name is Alexandra DeBever, I am excited to be back again as your School Counselor for the South Building. I will be working with all of our Kindergarten through 3rd grade students!
My role is to support students' social-emotional well-being, academic success, and the development of important life skills. Throughout the school year, I will work with students in a variety of ways, including individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom counseling lessons focused on social-emotional learning and life skills. I am also available to provide one-on-one support for students who may benefit from more personalized attention to particular family needs. Lunch Bunches will continue to be offered and all students are invited and can choose if they want to participate. This month, we won't have a monthly lesson. Instead, I’ll be doing “Crew Connections” where I meet with students as a touch point to kick off the school year! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. I can be reached at adebever@dcsdk12.org.
I look forward to a wonderful school year!
