Coaches Message

Greenville Splash is famous! We had a five page article that was devoted to the Upstate Veterans Program in the USMS Swimmer Magazine. This magazine reaches over 60,000 swimmers all across the United States. We are getting phone calls and emails from coaches and clubs all around the country asking us questions about this wonderful program. Thank you so much to all of our volunteers, coaches and instructors that help to make this program so successful. Greenville Splash sets the trends and is definitely a club to be emulated.

We had a very fun and successful open water season. Our group swims ended with our annual team picnic that was the highlight of the summer. We truly enjoyed the fun and adventurous swimmers that took to the open water this summer. Thank you so much to all of our volunteer kayakers and group leaders that kept us safe. Thanks to our chefs that helped with the grilling at our team picnic. Whoever made the Hawaiian coleslaw needs to send in the recipe, it was so delicious.

Thank you to Coach Rebecca for her dedication to coaching Greenville Splash. She is truly going to be missed by many. She is moving to Charlotte, but we hope still see her at the Charlotte meet and when she comes back to Greenville to visit. Good luck and best wishes from all!

We are looking forward to hosting the Upstate Splash Charity Open Water Swim Saturday Sept 16. Good luck to all our swimmers! Thank you to those that are volunteering. All of the proceeds from the event goes back to our community to provide swim lessons for children, adults and veterans.

Please continue to thank our team sponsors by buying their products! Come visit Alpine Ski to pick up a Dolfin swim suit and / or swim equipment. Show your bag tag and tell them you are with Greenville Splash to receive a 20% discount off swimwear and swim equipment. We are also excited to be working with Synergy Wetsuits. Click here to receive a discount code for Synergy.

Send Leslie results and pictures of your events for our next newsletter. Feel free to email Coach Leslie at greenvillesplash@gmail.com or give me a call if you need any help with anything: 864-283-1328.

How Sleep Can Impact Your Swimming Performance

How Sleep Can Impact Your Swimming Performance

For many Masters swimmers, routine is everything. You go to your workout 3, 4, 5, or more days a week or more like clockwork. You work hard during your training sessions, whether they're in the pool or open water, and you rinse and repeat.

Freestyle Differences Between the Pool and Open Water

Freestyle Differences Between the Pool and Open Water

Open water swimming is increasing in popularity as more Masters swimmers jump into lakes, rivers, and oceans for an enjoyable swim. One of the most common questions I receive from these swimmers about open water swimming is, "Should I emulate how I swim freestyle in the pool in the open water?"

Make a Difference

Thank you so much to all of our swimmers that volunteer for Greenville Splash! Your efforts help to make our community safer in the water and provide fitness and competition activities for swimmers.
