Nutrition Services Nutrition Services

Free and Reduced Application

Everyone should have received a letter from Nutrition Services about Free and Reduced Lunch Applications. We would appreciate everyone completing this as it helps all schools with funding. Applicants that qualify are eligible for benefits such as reduced or waived instructional fees and more. If you have any questions, please reach out to our nutrition services department.

26-27 Meal Application

For the 2026-2027 school year, the Thompson School District will provide access to free meals for all students through the Healthy School Meals for All program. This program ensures enrolled students are provided free breakfast and lunch, regardless of family income.

Although all students will receive access to free meals, it’s still important for households to provide their income information when requested. Gathering this information allows the Thompson School District to receive the state and federal funding we qualify for. These funds go directly to schools to help cover the cost of meals and support after-school activities and other programs for students. Plus, qualifying households may be eligible for Summer EBT benefits, receive discounted or waived school fees, etc. Providing household income information ensures you and your school receive all available financial support. ***All household income information is confidential and will not be shared without your consent.***

The attachments contain more information on the application, and instructions for applying. While the following pages may reference eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals, access to breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all students regardless of household income.

***At this time we are only providing lunch at Loveland Classical Elementary and Loveland Classical Secondary, breakfast is not provided at these locations.***

We provide meals that meet or exceed the US Department of Agriculture nutrition standards and Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This year we are also increasing our items from local farmers and producers. You can be confident your children are getting quality meals while saving your family time and money.

Use the link below to apply online, or you may pick up a paper application at any TSD school or the Support Services Center and return or mail it to 2890 North Monroe Avenue Loveland, CO 80538.

McKinney-Vento Program McKinney-Vento Program

Thompson School District’s McKinney-Vento Program supports students and families experiencing housing instability. The program works to identify and eliminate barriers to school stability. Students eligible for the program have the right to immediate enrollment in school, transportation support, waived school fees, free school meals, and connection to school and community resources.

By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, TSD identified 675 students Pre-K through 12th grade (approximately 5% of our population) who qualified for the McKinney-Vento program. To date, 480 students are eligible for the program. For more information, please contact TSD's McKinney-Vento Liaison, Erica Wooldridge.
