Teacher News / Variance Requests / Class Assignments

  • New Teacher! The District provided us with an additional half teacher, and the school will fund the other half from our TSSA budget. This means we are able to hire an additional 2nd grade teacher and avoid a 2nd/3rd split. Mrs. Myers (Miss Steagall got married this summer!) will be moving to 2nd grade, and we will be hiring a 6th grade teacher to fill the opening.

  • Variance Requests. Variance requests will be decided by Friday, August 8th. Those who have requested a variance will receive an email stating the request has either been approved or denied. Variance approvals are based on class size limitations as well as other factors.

  • Class assignments for grades 1-6 will be made available August 8th through your myDSD account. Class assignments made prior to this date are not final and are only for the purpose of letting the district know how many students we have in each class. Adjustments will be made based on enrollment changes and other needs, but we are no longer accepting teacher requests. Thank you for your understanding. Class assignments for kindergarten will be made available August 14th through your myDSD account.

Kindergarten Registration & Testing

Registration:

  • If you have a child who turns 5 before September 1, 2025, and you have not yet come into the school to register, please do so immediately. Our kindergarten enrollment affects the number of teachers our school receives.

Testing:

  • Kindergarten testing will take place Monday, August 11 through Wednesday, August 13. We need parents of each kindergarten student to complete the following prior to August 8:

    1. Use the following link to complete a pre-testing parent survey: https://www.davis.k12.ut.us/page/kindergarten-screener-parent-survey
    2. Log in to myDSD, click on "Tools," then "Appointment," and select an assessment time. The assessment with consist of a 20-minute session with a teacher and a six-minute session with a TA.
