Dear EJES Families,

I hope this message finds you well! It is hard to believe we are quickly approaching Winter Break! As many of you know, my family and I are excited to be welcoming a new baby in early January. I will be beginning my maternity leave after Winter Break on January 5th.

During my absence, Mr. Jeff DiRosa will serve as interim principal. He was a building principal and superintendent of Alba Schools for over 15 years and the superintendent of Mancelona Public Schools for 10 years. I am confident our community, staff, and students will remain in excellent hands during my absence.

I look forward to returning following Spring Break on April 7th. I am grateful for your continued support and partnership!

Thank you for your understanding during this special time for my family. If you have any questions or need assistance during my leave, please reach out to the main office directly at (231) 536-7564.

Warm Wishes and Happy Holidays,

Lindsay Rogers

Principal, East Jordan Elementary School

Attendance Celebration! Attendance Celebration!

At the end of the first quarter, 58 students had PERFECT attendance! Perfect attendance means that your child was on time and present each and every day during the first quarter. If a student has any tardies or absences (including excused absences) they will not get recognized for this award. These 58 students will be recognized at our Student of the Month Assembly, will receive certificates, and get an AttenDANCE Party this Friday! Thank you for your continuous support in your child's education!

Cell Phone/Smart Watch Policy Cell Phone/Smart Watch Policy

User uploaded image

Families-

Smartwatches are not permitted for use at school between the hours of 7:45 AM and 3:04 PM, consistent with the existing cell phone policy. If school personnel see or hear a smartwatch being used during these hours, the device will be confiscated and held until it can be picked up by a parent or guardian.

Parents who need to communicate with their child during the school day should call the elementary office at 231-536-7564 rather than attempting to contact students directly via smartwatches.

Smartwatches may be worn as timepieces but must not be used for calls, messaging, or any other functions during school hours.

Thank you so much for helping us with this!

Help us spread some joy to EJES students and staff with Happy Grams!

Our children may experience tough days every now and then. We don’t always get the opportunity to let the school staff know we appreciate them. Why not take a moment to write some uplifting notes to them? These notes can be given to them on days when they need a boost. It’s a simple way to brighten someone’s day!
