Per West Shore School Board Policy 204 (Attendance), a maximum of six (6) days of cumulative lawful absences verified by parental notification shall be permitted during a school year. This total includes all absences, excused or unexcused.

Please note:

• Absences are unexcused until the District receives a written excuse explaining the absence, submitted within three (3) days. This applies to all students regardless of age. After three (3) days, for students of compulsory education, unexcused days will be converted to unlawful.
• Any absences beyond six (6) cumulative parental-notified days require an excuse from a licensed practitioner of the healing arts.
• Absences of three (3) or more consecutive days require an excuse from a licensed practitioner of the healing arts.
• Days when a student is sent home ill by the school nurse are excused and do not count toward the six (6) parental-notified absences. Building administration, in consultation with the building nurse, may authorize absences of up to three (3) consecutive days.

Thank you for your attention to this policy and for helping us ensure accurate attendance reporting.

Students may bring in nonperishable and personal hygiene items to school during the week of February 2nd - February 6th. Students can place items on the team's table they think will win the big game! All items benefit New Hope Ministries and Rossmoyne families.

The nurse is requesting mini hair brushes, deodorant, and dental items.

Our annual March Tabness event will be here before you know it! If you haven't already, start saving all those aluminum can tabs for a Rossmoyne favorite Student vs Staff basketball event!

This school year, we are partnering with New Hope Ministries to provide food for families in need over the weekend. If you are interested in this program or have any questions, please contact Mrs. Berfield. You can reach her via email mberfield@wssd.k12.pa.us or Seesaw.

The West Shore School District is excited to partner with United Way of the Capital Region’s School Readiness program this year!

The Ready for School, Ready to Succeed program helps children ages 3–5 (and their families) get ready for kindergarten and on track to read proficiently by 3rd grade.

Families can attend FREE in-person workshops, available to ALL families. Workshops will be held at Rossmoyne Elementary School. Registration is required.
