York High School Weekly Memo

Hi Everyone,

This will be our last weekly memo of 2025! We have had a festive December with our holiday concerts, drama performances, and our (Holiday) Spirit Week that is still going strong. This month is always a special time, a season of reflection, celebration, and connection with family, friends, and neighbors.

Our winter sports season is off and running with tremendous energy, and our student-athletes and coaches have already demonstrated outstanding commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship. I encourage everyone to come out and support our teams as they compete throughout the month and into the new year.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and just a reminder, our school vacation does not begin until Wednesday! If you have any questions or need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks,

Amanda

Every 4th of the month, we remember and recognize Erin Fell, our student who passed away last school year, by wearing her favorite colors -- purple and pink. If you are looking to purchase your own gear, please use this link, and know that a portion of every sale will be donated to the York Public Library in honor of Erin, following the wishes of her family.

If you have any questions about the events listed below, please reach out to your student's school counselor for more information.

College rep visits are starting up, and they'll be held in person or virtually this year. These visits are a great chance to talk with college representatives about their campuses and what they offer. Sometimes, the reps you meet with are the same admission counselors who will be reviewing your application!

There are many colleges and universities visiting, so be sure to check out all the available slots in Naviance. For virtual visits, it's important to be in a quiet space so you can have a clear conversation.

Juniors and seniors can sign up and reserve their spot through Naviance by clicking on the "What's new" window on your Naviance home page. If you need a quiet place to participate, please let Student Services know ahead of time. If you have any questions, please reach out to us in Student Services.

Any sophomore interested in attending the SRTC visit on Tuesday, January 6, will need to fill out this form by the end of the day today (December 18). If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Beatty.

Hear about the college process, what to expect in senior year, and helpful tips for college admissions.
