Check out our rankings!

Check out our rankings on Niche: #3 Best Public K-8 school in Idaho, #4 Best Public Elementary School in Idaho, #5 Best Public Middle School in Idaho! Note, we didn't say charter, we said public - that means best of ALL public schools, charter and non-charter. In their ranking, Niche takes into account far more than state test scores, but we're proud of those too. Below are our stats on the Idaho State Report Card. Congratulations to our hard-working teachers and students!

ISATs:

ELA - 77.7%

Math - 70.6%

Science - 70.3%

IRI Proficiency - 87% and in the top 10 charter schools in the state!

Volunteer Opportunities

One of the many great things about being part of this community is the opportunity to serve our school, staff, and students by joining a committee. Committees provide a space for in-depth discussion and focused work. Some committees are made up of board members only, but most are combined committees of board, staff, and PPCS community members.

Committees are a great way to learn new things, meet excellent people, and help fill some of our school’s needs. Please consider joining a committee for the 2026-2027 school year.

Board Meetings

All families are invited and encouraged to attend the monthly board meeting. Meetings are held in-person at PPCS or via Google Meet. You can find the upcoming dates, agendas, and meeting details on the website: https://palouseprairieschool.org/school-board/

You are welcome to address the board during the public comment period. In order to do so please submit a request via email to the Board chair (chair@palouseprairieschool.org) at least two days in advance of the meeting. The email should contain your name; whether you are a student, parent/guardian of a student, school employee, or person residing within PPCS’s attendance area; and describe how the public comment is relevant to the school.

The next board meeting is Monday, August 31st at 6:00 PM.

Art Camp becomes Quail Camp

We've decided to change the name of Art Camp to Quail Camp. It'll still be the same great camp, organized by well-loved staff member, Ty Dickinson, but Ty is branching out to provide more than art. There will be a variety of Crew-building games and physical and enrichment activities, as well as art. Contact Ty at tdickinson@palouseprairieschool.org with questions.

Our first Quail Camp is on September 4th. See the information below to register.

Changes to Art (Quail) Camp Registration

Art Camp (now called Quail Camp) is a popular service to provide and we are happy to provide it! Because registration and payment happen separately, tracking camp registration has been challenging. Sometimes folks registered but didn't pay or paid and didn't return a registration form. We also didn't have a way to stop accepting online payments after a camp was filled. Because camps can fill up quickly, we are changing our process to ensure that registration and payment happen together and we can accurately track camp enrollment. To register for Quail Camp(s), please provide both the registration form and payment together. A parent can drop them off at the school, mail them to PPCS at 406 Powers Ave, Moscow ID 83843 or send them in with a student in a SEALED ENVELOPE with STUDENT NAME, DATE and ART CAMP on the front. Note that PPCS will not be held responsible if a student loses or forgets to deliver the envelope. Incomplete registrations or unlabeled envelopes will not be accepted. Thank you for your understanding and our apologies for any inconvenience.

National Math Club & MATHCOUNTS Competition Series at Palouse Prairie

Welcome back for the 2026-2027 school year. We’re getting an early start on National Math Club / MATHCOUNTS at our school. Open to students in grades 6th through 8th, students will be able to learn and practice math concepts in a fun setting. It is led by a parent volunteer Ellery Blood, with support from Jake Sapozhnikov and PPCS teachers Renée and Andrika.

National Math Club (https://www.mathcounts.org/programs/math-club) is a program that gives middle-school students the opportunity to engage with math in a non-competitive, social environment.

Interested students will also have the option to participate in the MATHCOUNTS competition series

providing students the opportunity to compete in live contests against and alongside their peers.

We’ll be meeting on Tuesday mornings from 7:20 to 8:10 in the middle school science classroom. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 22nd . All students in grades 6th through 8th are welcome. 5th graders will be invited to join in the spring, after the competition series ends.

If your child is interested, please follow this link to fill out the google form with your information (or just show up for a meeting, but I’ll still need your email to send out updates).
