SVES Halloween Special Edition
Saucon Valley Elementary School
SVES Halloween Parade
Students are looking forward to marching in costume in our annual Halloween Parade on the afternoon of October 30th, 2026! Parents and family members are welcome to attend to view the parade outside. Our parade route will be the same as last year. We are asking family members to view the parade from the location assigned to your child's grade level in the attached map. If you have children in multiple grades, please view with the eldest child's class. Please note we are unable to permit visitors into the building during the parade.
Parking is at a premium when we have special events. You are welcome to park in the district office lot, marked sections of the Elementary and MS Visitor lot and the adjoining streets. There will be no parking in the elementary bus loop, as that is part of our parade route!
Please note, if there is inclement weather on October 30, the parade will occur inside the school. If the parade does need to be moved indoors, unfortunately, we would not be able to have parents view the parade. We will provide updates closer to the date.
HALLOWEEN PARADE ROUTE
HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
Since the parade will take place in the afternoon of October 30, we are asking students to bring their costumes into school. They will put their costumes on PRIOR to the parade.
Please have your child practice dressing in his or her costume at home ~ just so he or she knows where the snaps/buttons/zippers are and how all of the parts of the costume work together. This also helps your child know what should be returned home at the end of the day. We will have some adult volunteers to help with putting on costumes.
Please dress your child in the “under layers” of his or her costume at home.
Please send your child’s costume to school in a labeled bag.
Costumes should easily be able to be put on over your child's clothes. Students will then wear their costume for the remainder of the day (during their class party). Please keep in mind they will be sitting at their desks during the end of the day and the costumes must accommodate without students needing to change.
Please also ensure that all costumes are appropriate for school: no weapons (including look-a-like weapons), profanity, or vulgarity. If you have a question about the appropriateness of your child's costume, please ask your child's teacher.
HALLOWEEN PARTIES
Finally, since the parade will be occurring at 1:45 pm on Friday, we are requesting that snacks/drinks be dropped-off on Thursday to keep the parade route open. We are requesting that all items are prepackaged and include at least one healthy snack and a drink for each student. For more information about donating snacks or drinks, please contact your child's classroom parent or teacher.
