Haynes Hub
Summer 2024
Dear Haynes Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you all enjoying a wonderful summer! I wanted to take a moment to share some updates and let you know what I've been up to during these hot and sunny weeks. I spent a few days this summer at ESY/SMILE/Explore at Noyes, and it was wonderful to see so many of our students and staff enjoying the excellent summer programming.
This summer, I've been able to spend some time with my extended family on Long Island, enjoying the beautiful south shore beaches. Next week, my family and I will be in Osterville, on the Cape, soaking in the sun and taking some time to relax. Here's a family photo from my daughter's 8th birthday as well as some pictures of my kids this summer.
As we enjoy these summer days, I am looking forward to the upcoming school year. Our team is preparing to welcome students back to school and ensure a smooth and successful start. I will be sharing more detailed information in mid-August as we finalize our plans and get ready to kick off another exciting academic year. I'm also looking forward to welcoming our new Assistant Principal, Christine Maus to our team. Christine will officially start on August 12th.
Please keep an eye out for updates and important announcements in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I hope you continue to have a restful and enjoyable summer.
Best,
Bryant Amitrano

Summer Nurse Update - Lice
It takes about six weeks for your head to start itching after getting lice! Now is the time to catch the lice that were shared at summer camps and sleepovers. Routine inspection is essential to combat the spread.
Check your child’s head for these wingless insects. Because of their color and speed, they aren’t easy to find. Nits are tiny, grayish-white eggs shaped like a tear-drop. They are found on individual hair shafts approximately ¼ inch from the scalp and do not brush away like dandruff would. Favorite spots are behind the ears, at the crown of the head, or the nape of the neck. CDC Lice Info Let Nurse Jackman know if you find lice and she can guide you through treatment.
