Welcome Back, South Kitsap!
September 2026

📣 Stay Informed - Get the ParentSquare App
ParentSquare is the tool South Kitsap School District uses for routine and emergency communication. Users are able to set preferences for how and when they receive information. All families automatically receive messages in ParentSquare and the contact information is pulled directly from Skyward.
We encourage all families and staff to download the free ParentSquare app which makes it easy to keep track of messages from your mobile device. Messages may be sent via text, email, phone, and app notification. Please ensure your contact information is up to date!

School supply lists for 2026-2027 have been posted and are also available at local retailers. Due to changes in federal funding, school supplies are not provided at any sites this year.
If you have additional questions or would like to donate supplies, please reach out directly to the schools.

🚍 Bus Routes and New Tool
The South Kitsap Transportation Department is hard at work preparing bus routes for the coming school year. Please note the routes and times may be adjusted in the first few weeks of school so it is a good idea to keep checking back. Thank you for your patience.
Download the Bus Compass App
Big News! SK Transportation has a technology tool with a host of safety and efficiency features:
- GPS bus monitoring so families know exactly where their student's bus is on the route
- Video and audio access for administrators to monitor behavior and safety
- Scan system for students as they board and depart the bus
- Turn by turn directions for drivers and substitutes
- Stop paddle cameras to identify vehicles who fail to obey lawful stops
- Onboard WIFI for students to access district approved sites
Please note: the Bus Compass App route information will be in flux during the first few weeks of school.
💛 Volunteer Clearances
We appreciate the partnership and support of community volunteers. If you would like to offer the gift of your time, please ensure you have a current volunteer background check. Volunteer clearances are valid for two years and are processed through the Washington State Patrol Criminal History System and National Sex Offender Database. Applications are available at the district office or school office and photo ID is required. Please allow up to 2 weeks for processing and contact Emily Fowler at the District Office with questions 360-874-7010.
📝 Complete Documents in Skyward Qmlativ!
Each year, families are asked to complete Annual Verification documents in Skyward Qmlativ.
