Wildcats in Action Wildcats in Action

Last week was PACKED full of activities at ACHS!

Our Girls Cross Country Team continued to practice this week as they prepare for a postseason push to the State Cross Country Meet!

Our High School Boys Football program took on the Seymour Panthers this week. Only the Junior High and the Varsity were in action this week. Both teams fell to the Panthers, but battled hard in the effort. The boys will continue their seasons this week with a matchup against the Haskell Indians on Thursday and Friday.

Our High School Volleyball program finished up district play this past Tuesday with decisive wins against Petrolia. The JV ended their season with only one district loss and have shown that our program is prime for several years! The Varsity ended district with a tie for 2nd place in the district with a record of 5-3. The girls will play in a pseudo tie breaker/playoff warm-up game on Monday against fellow district foe Nocona at Rider Middle School at 7:00 PM! The girls have once again qualified for the 2a Division 2 State Playoffs and will play Munday in the first round later this week on either Thursday or Saturday. Details will be posted as soon as we know!

Our JH girls program are making their shift to basketball season!

JH One Act Play has been off and running! The players rehearse their show every Tuesday and Wednesday after school and are set to put together another exciting performance this year!

Together We Rise: Building on our Success!

There are a lot of great things happening at Archer City Junior High/High School, and we have plenty of reasons to be proud of our Wildcats! Our Lady Cats Volleyball and Cross Country teams are representing our school in postseason competition, our FFA program continues to grow in student involvement and service to our campus, and overall, our students are doing a great job of meeting behavioral expectations and representing our school in a positive way. These are all things worth celebrating, and they reflect the pride, commitment, and teamwork that we want to see throughout our campus.

However, as we celebrate these successes, we must also remember that our most important work happens in the classroom each and every day. We want our students to bring the same determination, discipline, and competitive spirit they demonstrate in extracurricular activities into their academic work. Just as our athletes work to improve their skills through practice and our FFA members grow through involvement and service, we must approach learning with the mindset that getting a little better every single day is the expectation.

This means coming to class prepared, staying engaged, challenging ourselves, and refusing to settle for simply getting by. Success in the classroom requires the same grit, focus, and consistency that lead to success in every other area of life. As we move forward, let's continue celebrating the great things happening around us while keeping our eyes on the bigger picture—developing young people who are prepared to succeed long after they leave Archer City. We have a lot to be proud of, but we also have a lot left to accomplish. Let's keep raising the standard, winning each day, and pushing one another to be better. Wildcat Rising: Together We Rise!
