Our first Site Council meeting will be tomorrow, September 23rd at 8am.
Title 1 Parent Meeting
Please join us tomorrow, September 23rd for our annual Title 1 Parent Meeting. This meeting shares information about our school's data, budget, and other compliance elements while also giving community members an opportunity to learn more about the programs at Greer.
We will meet at 8am in the WEST room (room to the right of the front desk in the office). We hope you will join us!
Medical Leave
Greer families,
I wanted to let you know that due to a medical circumstance, I will need to take a leave from work. Not being here is very hard for me as I am dedicated to the work we are doing for our students. Greer is my second home, and the students, staff, and families are like my second family. I will miss seeing all the smiling faces at morning walk, hanging out at recess, and all the conversations I have every day. This is not goodbye, just see you later. I will come back as soon as I can!
In the meantime, I am leaving you in the very capable hands of the admin and office team, including Monica Curiel, who is a retired administrator that will be joining the team in supporting while I am gone. She was here the first few weeks of school and did an amazing job and we are very excited to have her back. Monica, Vikki, and Josh are looking forward to continuing support for the Greer community. Thank you for your support during my absence and for your continued partnership in supporting our students.
Sincerely,
Principal Schupp
TO DO:
1.
Income Verification
Please use this link to complete the yearly Income Verification:
It is important that all families complete the form so that our school can receive additional state and federal funding that we use to buy supplies, fund field trips, prizes, and more!
2.
Annual Student Information Update
As we begin to prepare for the first day of school on Aug. 14, San Juan Unified School District would like to encourage families to complete the Annual Student Information Update as soon as possible.
The Annual Student Information Update asks families to:
Update Emergency Contact Information: All students are required to have updated emergency contact information on file so the district and your school can communicate with you in case of an emergency.
Complete the School Funding Form: All families are asked to complete one school funding form per household to help our schools receive funds to support your students’ success.
Get the 2025-26 Family Handbook: Review and acknowledge receipt of this year’s family handbook, containing district resources and information regarding your rights and responsibilities.
Review Demographic Information: Families are asked to review the demographic information for their student(s) and can update phone number(s) and race, as needed.
Visit www.sanjuan.edu/parentportal to complete the Annual Student Information Update by Aug. 31. If you still haven't done it, that's okay. Please complete ASAP!
Please contact our office if you have questions about the Annual Student Information Update or need help logging in to Parent Portal. Logging in is safe and secure, and information provided is kept confidential.
Be sure that the phone number that is in your Parent Portal matches your current phone number. Without this Talking Points will not work.
Important Reminders about Breakfast
Breakfast is served daily from 7:15am-7:45am and is free for all students. We are so happy to see so many of our students every day in the morning at breakfast. Not only does it mean they are getting their bodies and minds ready for school by eating, but that also means that they will be on time for class. We have noticed that breakfast has been very full this year for the entire meal service. Parents and families, please leave tables and benches open for students to sit and eat or sit and wait for morning walk.
Important Parking Lot Procedures:
Drop-Off Procedures
Safety is our number one priority, especially in the morning! Please review our Drop-Off Procedures:
Do not park your car or leave your vehicle unattended in the Fire Lane!
If you would like to park your car and walk your student into school, please park in the designated parking spots. To avoid disrupting the flow of traffic, please do not park your car in the driveway. Reference the map for the driveway that designates the drop off/pick up area.
Pick-Up Procedures for 1st-5th Grades
School ends at 2:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Thursdays, school ends at 12:45.
To address safety and the business of the end of the day, we will not call students out for early dismissals after 2:00 (12:35 on Thursdays).
We still have students who are being picked up more than 30 minutes after dismissal. Students who are frequently picked up 30 minutes or more after dismissal will be referred to Safe Schools.
