From Your Principal
A Great Start to a New School Year!
What an amazing start to the school year! It has been wonderful having our Crippen Astronauts and their smiling faces back on campus. Our classrooms and hallways are once again filled with energy, laughter, and learning, and we are so excited about the year ahead.
During these first few weeks, our teachers are working hard to build strong relationships, teach routines and procedures, and set clear expectations for a successful school year. These early days are so important because they help create the safe, supportive learning environment our students need to grow and thrive.
Parents, you are an important part of this work too! As you talk with your child about their day, try going beyond, "How was school today?" Ask questions such as, "How did you show kindness to someone today?" "How did you help a teacher or classmate?" "Show me something you learned today." or "What is something you are proud of today?" These conversations help our students understand that how they treat others and how they approach their learning both matter.
At Crippen, we are working to build a community where kindness, hard work, and supporting one another are simply part of who we are. Our goal is to grow Astronauts who SOAR academically, socially, and emotionally and who know that they can do hard things!
There is also lots of excitement ahead! We will be announcing our Student House Leaders very soon, and several clubs and student opportunities will begin in the coming weeks. We cannot wait to see our students find new ways to connect, lead, serve, and shine.
We are excited for this new school year and all the joy, growth, and learning it will bring. Thank you for partnering with us as we help every Crippen Astronaut reach for the stars and SOAR!
