A letter from Mrs. Schwamman
January 17, 2024
Dear WILDCAT Families,
Winter has finally arrived late this year showing up in January with snow, wind, and interruptions in the school schedule. We know that these unscheduled hours or days away from your routines can be challenging but we appreciate your understanding and help as we work to keep our students and staff safe! Next week looks to be arctic in nature with below zero temperatures and dangerous wind chills. Please let us know if you need assistance with winter attire such as coats, boots, hats, and mittens. Also know that the colder it is outside the colder our buildings can sometimes feel. We recommend layers and even a sweatshirt or sweater that can be left here at school.
Last week the legislative session began and many listened to or watched the Condition of the State address. Positive changes to address teacher pay are much needed and we look forward to figuring this out in our district. Other items that were mentioned could negatively impact our district as students and staff will not have access to many valuable resources that have been in place for decades. Below is the proposal of a chart of the services that are going to be cut
July 1, 2024. We value our partnership with KEYSTONE AEA and need help in the next two weeks and beyond. All of the items in red are being cut.
Below is a link to your local senators and representatives, please tell the impact this will make for your family or student.

This weekend presents a critical window for advocacy as we believe things are moving quickly. Please consider sending a letter, making a phone call, or attending a legislative forum.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me as well!
