It's pumpkin carving time of year! I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and all that fall has to offer!
I look forward to seeing all seniors at 8:00 AM on Wednesday to retake the ACT. Testing should be completed by noon. Seniors need to come with their updated laptop and charger. Please read the article for details. Go M@VS!

4th-8th On-Site Writing Workshop
Friday, October 30th at Maryville Virtual School----All 4th through 8th graders will come to MVS from 9 to 11 to participate in a Writing Workshop with Mrs. Vagnier and create their own original essay. Students need to come with their laptop and charger. Students may be dropped off and walk into the building on their own. To pick up your child at 11:00, you may:
- Park and come inside the front office.
- Park and call the front office at 865-681-2289 to have your child released out the front door.
- Park and text your child to have them released out the front door.
Senior ACT Retake- Required
Wednesday, October 21st at Maryville Virtual School---- All MVS Seniors will retake the ACT test on Wednesday, October 21st at Maryville Virtual School. This retake is a free, on-line test opportunity provided by the state of Tennessee. The test will be given on the laptop. No registration is required. (Note that taking the ACT is a graduation requirement in the state of Tennessee.)
- Who: ALL MVS Seniors
- When: 8:00 until 12:00
- Where: Maryville Virtual School
- How: Arrive at the MVS front office by 8:00 with a charged laptop, an ID, pencils, and an approved calculator. (See ACT approved calculator info here.
Dual Enrollment Spring Registration Opens
Junior ASVAB Exam- Required
Wednesday, October 28th at Maryville Virtual School---- All MVS Juniors will take the ASVAB test on Wednesday, October 28th at Maryville Virtual School. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is designed to help students learn more about themselves and the world of work, explore occupations in line with their interests and skills, discover all the ways to enter the career fields they are best suited for, and develop an effective strategy to achieve their career goals. - When: 9:00 until 11:00

- How: Arrive at the MVS front office by 9:00 with a charged laptop
Sophomores PreACT- Required
Wednesday, November 4 at Maryville Virtual School----All MVS 10th graders will participate in the PreACT test on November 4th at MVS. This is a mandatory assessment that offers students an early experience with ACT test items, provides a predicted ACT test score, and offers a wealth of information to help students get the start they need to be college ready.
- Who: ALL MVS Sophomores
- When: 8:30 until 12:00
- Where: Maryville Virtual School
- How: Arrive at the MVS front office by 8:30 with charged laptop and an approved calculator. (See ACT approved calculator info here.
Note- Students will be allowed to text parents when the test is over for pickup, if we finish early.
