🐝 The Hawthorne Hive Weekly Buzz
Greetings Hawthorne ES Community,
Thank You, Hawthorne Families! What an incredible week of school spirit and community connection! Thank you for allowing your students to shine during Red Ribbon Spirit Week, for joining us at Bubble Cream on Wednesday to support our Spirit Day/Night (with proceeds going right back to our school!), and for sending in those delicious, sweet treats for our PBIS Trolley Celebration. Your enthusiasm continued as our halls came alive during Friday’s Book Character Parade—we loved seeing the creative costumes and the books that inspired them!
🌱 Family Garden Day – Today!
Join us TODAY for our Fall Family Planting Day AT 2 - 4 PM as we come together to transition our Hawthorne STEM Garden for the winter season! Come help us grow our garden and our community — one seed (and one act of service) at a time!
The excitement doesn’t stop there! 🎬 Join us this Friday, November 7th, for our PTA-Sponsored Movie Night. Arrive by 5:30 PM to grab a great spot and enjoy goodies from the concession stand before the movie begins promptly at 6:30 PM. Students had the fun of voting for the film—We’re excited to announce that our movie will be K-Pop 😈 Hunters! Everyone is invited to wear their costumes and get ready to sing along—it’s going to be a blast for the kids and families alike!
✨ The movie will include Spanish subtitles for our Spanish-speaking families.

Walker Dismissal Protocol Update
The dismissal process for the Walker group is being slightly adjusted to ensure a smoother and more secure experience. Students will continue to dismiss from the side door; however, we will now be implementing a numbered tag system.
Each walker will be assigned a unique number. Parents or guardians must walk to the designated walker door and visibly display their child’s assigned number. This number will correspond to the student’s walker tag, which will be attached to their backpack.
For safety and accountability, students will only be released once the matching number is presented at the door.
Attendance & Dismissal Procedures Update
To ensure accurate attendance records and to maintain a safe and orderly school environment, we are updating our arrival and dismissal procedures:
-
Late Arrival: Students arriving after 7:45 AM must be checked in by a parent/guardian inside the school office.
-
Early Check-Out: If a student needs to leave school early, parents/guardians must come into the building to sign the student out prior to the start of dismissal.
These updates are in place to support accurate attendance documentation. We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to helping us ensure that your students are safe during arrival and dismissal from school. 😊Thank you!
