🦎 Exciting PBIS Updates at Canyon Creek!
We’re kicking off the second quarter with some exciting updates to our schoolwide PBIS program! Our goal is to celebrate positive choices, encourage responsibility, and provide fun opportunities for all our Chameleons!
đź’µ Cami Cash is Back!
Students will earn Cami Cash for demonstrating positive behaviors and meeting schoolwide expectations. They can spend their Cami Cash on classroom rewards or save it for special Cami Club experiences!
🎉 Cami Clubs Are Coming!
Beginning the week of October 26, students can use their Cami Cash to purchase fun experiences planned by our teachers!
Kindergarten–1st Grade: $70 Cami Cash
2nd–3rd Grade: $60 Cami Cash
4th–5th Grade: $50 Cami Cash
Cami Club costs vary because younger students receive more frequent opportunities to earn Cami Cash as they learn and practice schoolwide expectations. Once students purchase a club, their spot is secured!
🌟 Cami Compliments Continue!
Cami Compliments will continue recognizing students who go above and beyond through exceptional kindness, leadership, and helpfulness. Students receiving a Cami Compliment will earn an additional $5 in Cami Cash and opportunities to participate in special raffles. Our goal is for every student to receive at least one compliment each quarter. Cami Compliments are not required to purchase Cami Clubs.
🦎 Earning CREW Scoops!
Every 200 Cami Cash earned by students will also help their CREWS earn a scoop toward CREW celebrations. Every positive choice helps our school community!
đź’š Every Chameleon Can Shine!
We’re excited to offer multiple ways for students to be recognized, rewarded, and celebrated. Thank you for helping us reinforce positive choices at home and school. Together, we are making Canyon Creek an amazing place to learn and grow!
Fall Parade & Parties
Costume Guidelines & Schedule
There are lots of fun costume options out there! While your child may choose a scary or gory costume for Halloween night, these types of costumes are not appropriate for school. Please help your child use discretion when choosing a costume for our parade and parties.
For everyone’s safety and comfort at Canyon Creek, please avoid:
Costumes that appear bloody, gory, or violent
Weapons or look-alikes (e.g., toy guns, knives, spears, scythes) — leave these at home
Masks that circulate colored liquid must remain turned off while at school
If you have questions about costume choices, please check with Mrs. James.
Fall Parade & Classroom Parties
We’re so excited to celebrate together with our Fall Parade and Classroom Parties!
Here’s what families need to know:
- Room Parents may enter classrooms at 8:55 a.m. to begin setting up for the parties.
- The parade will begin at 9:15 a.m. Students will line up by 9:13 a.m. inside the building.
- Mrs. James will lead the parade as students exit through the 4th/5th grade wing (Door F), loop once around the playground, and re-enter through the recess doors (Door G).
- Parents are welcome to stand outside along the playground route—both in the center and around the perimeter—to watch and cheer!
- All parents should remain on the playground until the parade is finished and all students have re-entered the building. This helps us keep the transition safe and organized for students.
- After the parade, students will head back to classrooms for their parties.
- Parties will run until 10:00 a.m.
- Students may wear costumes for the rest of the day, but accessories (hats, wands, masks, etc.) should be kept in lockers once the celebration is over.
We can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity and school spirit on display! Thank you to our amazing PTO room parents and volunteers for helping make this such a fun and festive morning for our Chameleons!
