Have A Great Weekend! Have A Great Weekend!

Stay warm this weekend with the wild weather!

Please try to limit unnecessary absences for trips or doctor appointments after Spring Break. We will begin taking M-step and NWEA tests the week we return from Spring Break. The busiest weeks are April 27 - May 15. When students miss class on these days, they sometimes need to take 2 tests in 1 day to complete make-ups and stay on schedule with their classmates. Please communicate planned absences with teachers as early as possible so that we can work with students to begin testing before being gone. Thank you!

See you Monday Broncos!

A Note For Next Week A Note For Next Week

Next week we will be celebrating Inclusion Week as a school community. We will start the week with an assembly and show a short video each day, followed by a brief class discussion about acceptance. The purpose of this week is to highlight the importance of creating a school where every student feels valued, respected, and included!

Some of the topics include physical, intellectual, and behavior differences as well as medical challenges. Thursday's video depicts a young lady battling cancer. We know that this topic in particular could hit close to home for some of our students. If you feel your child would prefer not to watch the video or discussion, please email Mrs. Kosten at lkosten@capsk12.org and we will find an alternative setting for the brief activity.

Opportunity to Join Advanced Math

7th Graders NOT currently in Advanced 7th Grade Math have the opportunity to take a placement test to join the current Advanced 7th Grade Math students in High School Geometry next year. This is for students who are strong math students and who have a desire to be pushed with more rigorous material at a quicker pace. • Tuesday, April 15: Materials packet given to students during Bridge Time

** Students may seek out help from any math teacher

Information for Families Information for Families

Dangers of Vaping

Vaping has become increasingly common among teens, but it carries serious health risks for developing brains and bodies. Even though some vaping products may be legal for adults, they are not safe for adolescents, whose brains are still developing until their mid-20s. Many vaping products contain high levels of nicotine, which can lead to addiction, affect attention and mood, and make it harder for students to focus and learn. In addition, some devices contain chemicals that can harm the lungs and overall health. Families can help by talking openly with their children about the risks and encouraging healthy choices. Please use the resources below to guide your discussions and reach out to our office staff for assistance in talking to your pre-teens about the dangers of vaping.
