Family Newsletter
October 2025

Message from the Principal
Dear FNE Families,
As we enter the month of December, we are excited to continue building on the social–emotional lessons our students have been practicing this semester. So far, our Capturing Kids’ Hearts themes have focused on Empathy, Self-Direct, and Teamwork. This month, we shift our focus to Responsibility, helping students recognize the importance of owning their actions, meeting expectations, and being dependable members of their classrooms and our school community.
December also marks the final three weeks of the semester, an important time for students to finish strong academically and continue positive habits that support learning. We appreciate your partnership in encouraging consistent routines at home as we close out the semester together.
We are excited to kick off our Winter Attendance Incentive! Students who attend school every day during the incentive window will be invited to our special Winter Dance, complete with “snow,” music, and warm hot chocolate. It will be a fun way to celebrate commitment, effort, and showing up each day ready to learn.
Thank you for your continued support this semester. Together, we are creating a school where students feel safe, valued, and excited to grow.
Expect nothing less but the best, we are FNE!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Cruz

Capturing Kids Heart
At FNE, relationships come first—and that’s why we are proud to be a 4x Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Campus! This recognition reflects our commitment to creating a campus where every student feels valued, safe, and connected.
This month’s Capturing Kids’ Hearts Family Newsletter focuses on Responsibility, helping students understand the importance of owning their actions, following through on commitments, and making choices that support their success. We are excited to partner with you in building these habits at home by encouraging routines, practicing accountability, and celebrating moments when your child demonstrates responsible behavior. Use this month’s activities to explore responsibility together and strengthen the skills that help children grow with confidence and integrity. Each month you will receive a newsletter from your school and Capturing Kids’ Hearts that aligns with a monthly theme. These newsletters include ideas, challenges, and activities to help you connect, reflect, and grow as a family. Each family newsletter will:
- Define and explain the focused character trait for the month.
- Provide you with ideas and activities to help you grow your child’s character.
- Equip you with conversation starters you can use to talk with your child and make their learning personal and relevant. Get started this month with the first family newsletter. We are excited to be on this journey with you! We are BETTER Together, Your Friends at Capturing Kids’ Hearts
