Parent Coffee with Principal AUG 28th
- Associate Principal (Vice Principal) Rachel Alexander is very qualified and experienced in the education system. She is also a parent and married to a teacher. Mrs Alexander will be on site at Doyle every Thur and Friday and half Wednesdays. She has split position between Doyle Elementary & La Jolla Elementary School.
- In case you missed the event we got to see slides of Principal Armando Lopez and his travels to Japan over the summer. He acknowledged the hurdle with budget cuts and the enforced chaperoning process. He reminded us its about the safety of the students. Mr Lopez loves the diversity of the Doyle Elementary and is happy to connect new families with other families that share similar languages other than English.

Volunteer Fingerprint = LiveScan
9/11/25 at 2:00 - 6:00pm
- The school is having a mobile Livescan company come on Back to School Night to provide finger print scanning services.
- If you are wanting to chaperone a field trip this year the school has to follow the district requirements, all the steps completed including a LiveScan.
- Fees range from $70-$82 for LiveScan service.
- Doyle does not make these rules, and the PTA can understand it is frustrating that you have to pay for a service to volunteer. Volunteering is not required, but we know field trips bring joy and support to the student's experience.
- You are still required to complete a volunteer application and TB Screening.
- Volunteer forms have been printed and are in the front office. Karina and Shauna can answer your questions.
- SignUp for a Live Scan appt time by coming into the front office, Walk ins okay as time allows.
Paint w/Doyle PTA President
SEPT 18th 5:30pm
Join us for a fun fundraiser where we get to paint with the talented Julie Lukert. She happens to be the Doyle PTA President. We are hoping to raise funds for a Gaga pit. Gaga pits are used at recess and the children get exercise while having fun.
We hope to see you there.

Volunteer with EARS tutoring program
Everyone A Reader looking for volunteer tutors π
The EARs (Everyone A Reader) Program has existed at Doyle for 25+ years
Our tutoring program supports students from September 2025 through May 2026.
Tutors work one-on-one with 2nd and 3rd Grade students who have been identified by their teachers as needing additional reading support.
- All tutoring materials are provided, and after a 2 hour training,
- the commitment is a two hour tutoring session each day.
- The tutoring days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings during regular school hours.
- You have the option of choosing one, two or three days a week tutoring the same or different group of students.
For the safety of the students and tutors alike, a basic background check (no fingerprints) is required in addition to the proof of a clear TB Test.
For more information about the EARs program at Doyle Elementary, please contact Carol Parham Cjparham@gmail.com
