STEM Matters
Staggered Start Edition! August 19, 2025
Welcome to STEM Middle at Baldwin Road Junior High!
This issue will prepare you for the first three days of school. Hooray!
Tomorrow we welcome students with the last names beginning with A - K.
Tuesday we welcome students with the last names L - Z.
Please review the map of the exterior of our building, as it will guide you on the following logistics:
Front entrance = Bus riders only.
Doors 11 and 12 = Car riders and walkers
All cars are to use the car rider lot (directly in front of the football and track field).
It is ONE WAY traffic in the car rider lot.
Please do not park on the grass, or "rest" in front of the stop sign. As you enter the "car loop," follow the guidance of our Safety and Security team, by pulling all the way up, safely letting your student out, and promptly exiting the car lot.
At no time are cars allowed in the bus loop, as this presents a safety concern.
Arrival - Doors open at 7:45 AM and students must be in their seats at 8 AM.
Upon arrival, students are to enter the building and go directly to the cafeteria(6th graders) or the gym (7th & 8th) graders for grab & go breakfast.
Students will be released at 7:55 AM to report to class.
When your student arrives, they will be greeted by SMBR staff at the door. Students will be able to get a copy of their schedule at this time, if they don't have one. Students will be directed to their respective stations (see above).
End of the day:
Dismissal from SMBR is at 2:30. We observe the same doors for exits, as we do for entering. We adhere to the same parking lot/bus loop procedures at the end of the day.
Frontiers of Greater Growth!
We are "back in the saddle," and ready to embrace a new year of teaching and learning!
We've got our boots on the ground!
Design Cycle Teaching Learning is a form of inquiry based student-led learning, where students will solve real world problems, through the lenses of eSTEM, Health Sciences and Social Justice. SMBR teachers have got their boots on the ground, and are ready to engage, empower and equip our scholars for the next level!
We are a State of Ohio STEM Designated School!
What sets us apart?
SMBR is a State of Ohio STEM Designated school, where our students are engaged in student-led Design Cycle Teaching and Learning!
Our students are empowered to imagine, plan and design how to solve real world problems, thus effectively preparing them for their next chapter!
