Dear Challenger Families,

The excitement is building at Ride Elementary! Our teachers return to campus next week, and they cannot wait to welcome our Challengers back. While our students are enjoying these final days of summer, our staff will be busy learning, collaborating, planning engaging lessons, and preparing classrooms to make sure every child has an incredible start to the school year.

There is something special about this time of year. Hallways begin to come alive, bulletin boards go up, classrooms are transformed, and our team is working together to create a place where every child feels welcomed, valued, connected, and ready to learn. We truly can't wait to fill our halls with smiling faces again!

As you prepare for the new school year, if your family needs assistance with school supplies, please don't hesitate to reach out to our school counselor, Kristy Johnson. We are here to support our Ride families and want to ensure every student has what they need for a successful year.

Here are a few important dates to mark on your calendar:

📧 Thursday, August 6 | 3:30 p.m.

You'll receive a welcome email from your child's homeroom teacher. Please take a few minutes to read through it carefully and note any important information or action items. Our teachers have been working hard to prepare warm, welcoming, and engaging classrooms, and they are so excited to meet your child! Every classroom placement has been made with great care and thoughtfulness to help ensure each student has the best possible start to the school year.

🎉 Monday, August 10 | 4:30–6:00 p.m.

Join us for our Ride Back-to-School Blast & Meet the Teacher, hosted by our amazing PTO! This is one of our favorite Ride traditions and the perfect opportunity to visit classrooms, meet teachers, explore the campus, and drop off school supplies. If you purchased an EPI school supply pack through PTO, it will be waiting on your child's desk, ready for the first day!

As you continue preparing, be sure to review our SKR Back to School Basics and Ride Policies and Procedures for helpful reminders and important information.

Thank you for sharing your children with us. It is truly a privilege to partner with your family, and we are honored to play a part in your child's educational journey. We know this is going to be an incredible year filled with learning, laughter, friendships, and growth as we continue building a school community centered on Connection, Commitment, and Character.

We can't wait to see your smiling faces very soon!

With love and excitement,

Laura Collins
