Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
If your child is a car rider, please do not line up with the buses. Because we have two waves for drop off and pick up, this impedes traffic flow and could create a safety issue. In the morning, car riders should enter on Caroline Street and be dropped off at the crosswalk in the front of the school. Students should not cross between buses. Instead, they will gather at the town park entrance and wait to cross at the crosswalk.
Fall Picture Day
Picture day is September 16th!
Your child can also bring their completed flyer with cash or check on Picture Day. Orders after Picture Day must be placed online only on mylifetouch.com.

Classroom Communication
To keep you informed and involved, we’re continuing to use Rooms, our two-way communication tool that helps you stay connected with your child’s teachers and school staff.
And this year, Rooms has improved some of their features:
SMS Text Notifications
You’ll now receive text message notifications whenever a new message or announcement is sent in Rooms. Each text includes a direct link to view the content in your mobile browser or in the app.
→ Click here to learn how to set your notification preferences.
One Messaging Inbox
Our school app has been updated to give you one, single place to see all of your messages across all children. From this inbox, you can read, reply, or start new messages. This feature is available through the CCPS App, available in the App Store and Google Play.Upgraded Messaging Features
Our messaging experience now lets you react to messages with emojis, respond in threads, send photos and videos, mute group messages, and more!
Check out this overview of the new experience, or watch this short video (video in Spanish or click on Haitian Creole) to learn more about what’s new for this year.
We’re here to help make communication simpler, more consistent, and easier to manage this year! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Mediation & Restorative Services
We are pleased to be partnering with Mid Shore Mediation again this year. Their Peace Team offers peer mediation on an as needed basis. Staff may make referrals to the team as conflicts arise, or students can self-refer. Please return the attached opt out form if you prefer your child not access these services.

Attendance Matters
Set the tone now for a successful school year. An absence here and there adds up. Now is the time to build good school attendance habits.

From the School-Based Health Center
Choptank Health joins us in welcoming your family to the 2025-2026 school year, with a reminder to set your students up for a healthy, successful year by ensuring they are enrolled in our School-Based Health Center.
School-Based Health Centers function like a typical doctor’s office, with medical providers assessing and diagnosing illness, writing prescriptions, performing lab tests—including for strep, influenza, and
Covid—and physicals including routine well visits and sports physicals. Dental services include screenings, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatment, and emergency visits.
Appointments can be made by calling your student’s health center at 667-238-8050. It’s never too late to help your child enjoy a healthy school year by enrolling them in School-Based Health.
Use these links to enroll your student in School-Based Health, with more information also at

Emailing School & District Staff
Spam filters are designed to identify emails that attackers or marketers use to send unwanted or dangerous content. They also throw out malware, malicious, and virus-infested emails and protect user security. Unfortunately, spam filtering is an inexact science that at times blocks legitimate messages.
Should you send an email to a staff member and not receive a reply within a reasonable amount of time (no more than 48 hours), please call the office.
