A big thank you to everyone who attended our Parkwood Upjohn Open House. It was wonderful seeing so many students and families picking out free books and exploring their classrooms!

Parkwood Panther Prowl Fundraiser
Mark your calendars for our school-wide fundraiser on October 10th! We will have a kickoff assembly soon and send home more details.
Picture Day
Picture Day is coming up this week with two half days:
- Thursday, September 18th (before noon): Peep plus 3rd through 5th grades
- Friday, September 19th (before noon): Kindergarten through 2nd grade

Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Please remember there is no parking in the bus lane at any time during arrival and dismissal. Sometimes buses run late and need quick access to the bus lane. It is also very dangerous for children to cross in front of or behind buses. Children should always cross with an adult at the crosswalks. Thank you for helping keep our kids safe by being good role models!

Attendance Matters
Research shows that attendance and punctuality are important for student success. Tardies and early dismissals add up and can lead to chronic absenteeism, as well as absences early in the year. We understand emergencies and illnesses happen, but we encourage students to attend school whenever possible.

Great News!

Thank you to those who have filled out the educational Benefits Form already! We currently have 332 families who filled it out and are down to the last 105 families who still need to fill it out. This is very important so that we get the full amount of funding needed for our students. This can affect the number of tutors we can have in our building and other resources if we don't have everyone's support in filling out these forms. If you have questions or need help filling out these forms, please email rosecransje@kalamazoopublicschools.net. I will reach out directly to the 105 families as well. If you do not get a separate email from me that means you are all set with your forms.

Click the Apply for Benefits form and complete the form as soon as possible. This form filled out by all Parkwood families greatly impacts the funding we received to support our students!
