CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTIONS

Less than 12 Weeks to go!

It is the time of year that we sit down to evaluate ourselves and our teaching throughout the year. Many new teachers worry about making sure they have met all of the standards. The curriculum and instruction committee has been working to establish the power standards for which you can measure your student's and your success.

Power standards are learning standards that educators have deemed the most essential for students to learn. They are critical knowledge or skills necessary for proficiency in a subject area. We feel these “standards can help educators create focused instruction, efficient assessments, and a strong curriculum to aid learning recovery and targeted support.

So as you look back on the year and evaluate yourself...check these standards. If you've taught your students these key concepts, you've given your students the basic knowledge to achieve mastery in theatre arts.

These are still a work in progress, so if you have any input, email me at curriculum@tetatx.com.

In Memoriam...

TxETA celebrates those we've lost recently. Those brilliant educators who dedicated their lives to their craft and to their students, sharing the magic of theatre and touching so many lives along the way. Through their immeasurable contributions, each of them left an individual and indelible mark that entertained, informed and enlightened so many. They've touched our hearts, they've made us smile, and became dear friends along the way that will never be forgotten.
