Leeds Future Stars Family and Friends,

As we approach the time of year when we begin planning for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, we at Leeds Elementary are already preparing for the important task of creating class lists. This process will extend through the spring and summer months, and we approach it with care and diligence. We carefully consider the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all our students, as well as the special programming requirements mandated by law.

In line with our commitment to meeting the needs of every student, I will do my best to honor teacher requests as we have in the past. To ensure the most organized and thorough process, we kindly ask that any teacher requests be submitted as follows:

  1. All requests must be made in writing and can be submitted either via email or on a hard copy to Ms. Guffy in the office. Please submit your request by no later than Friday, March 7, 2025. To maintain an organized process, we will not accept requests in person or over the phone.
  2. You may send a written request in a sealed envelope with your child to our office, or you can email your request directly to me at: kochr@live.siouxcityschools.com.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to ensure the best possible educational experience for all students at Leeds Elementary School.

Sincerely,

Mr. Koch

Principal, Leeds Elementary School

Hello Future Stars Families!

I hope everyone has had a great month even with that cold snap last week! Those temperatures always make me think I am not meant for the Midwest, I am ready for winter to be over already! We just finished our classroom guidance lessons about Careers in most grades. We got to play BINGO in kindergarten and first grade, 2nd grade learned about their own interests and how they might lead to a career, and 3rd grade got to write letters to professionals in our community (hopefully we will get some responses!). Fourth and fifth graders are still working because our 5th graders are going to host a career fair for the 4th grade to teach them about many different careers! Fifth grade is so excited to teach 4th grade about what they have learned!

Looking ahead to February, we will be having Kindness Week the week of Valentine’s Day. Dress up days and ideas for random acts of kindness will be set home next week!

As always, thank you for sharing your kids with us! We have so much fun here at Leeds!

Mrs. Roskilly

The District provides every student with a device to enhance the overall learning experience. When a student receives their device, it is their responsibility to take appropriate care of the device. Unfortunately, the District has hundreds of devices damaged or destroyed each year.

Damage to devices or lost devices could result in fines and reduced Internet access. Detailed information on fees is available in the Parent/Guardian and Student Handbook on the District website. We encourage you to remind your student about the responsibility that goes with having a device.
