Happy Friday!
Dear HMS Families,
Well, we did it! Five whole school days are complete and we are on our way to having an amazing school year. It was so fun having our students back on campus, filling our hallways with smiles and laughter. We have been out and about during transitions and we appreciate all of our students for helping us comply with the new cell phone policy.
We are so proud of all of our students and are excited to support them this year in achieving all of their goals. It's going to be a fantastic year!
With Kindness,
Bess & Sid

Athletic Director's Corner
We are so excited for our fall sports seasons to officially be underway! We have 50+ athletes competing for cross country and 30+ for volleyball & football. All of our athletes and coaches have been working extremely hard through this first week and we look forward to competitions starting in the near future.
Game schedules will not be finalized until Monday and will be shared out by each individual team coach as well as at our parent night. There will be a fall sports parent night on Monday 8/31 at 5:30 in the gym. We will start all together in the gym and then each program will have an opportunity to meet individually to go over sport specific information.
Finally, I really want to give a shoutout to all of our athletes who tried out for volleyball this week. It takes a lot of courage to tryout for a sport and regardless of the outcome we are so proud of them and hope they continue to participate in school activities in the future.
Hornets Cheerleading Club
HMS is excited for the Hornets Cheerleading Club to begin. Hornets Cheerleading Club (HCC) is a great introduction to cheerleading for beginners. HCC will meet Tuesday's and Thursday’s after school from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm starting on Thursday Sept. 3. Students will need to arrange to be picked up after practices, there is no bus transportation.
HCC is open to all students, 6th-8th grade. Cheerleaders will learn entry-level cheers and cheer alongside the HMS football team at home games on 9/23 and 10/7 at HHS Stadium. This is a great opportunity to explore cheerleading and get a head start learning HHS Cheer material.
All participants will be required to pay an ASB fee ($25). Competition participants will pay an additional $40 for a cheer t-shirt and poms. Non-competition participants will not be issued a tshirt and poms and will only be required to pay the ASB fee. Please grab a club permission slip from the ASB office and return it prior to beginning practice.
