Dear Parents/Guardians,

Happy November! Thank you for your cheers and enthusiasm during the Halloween parade! It was such a wonderful day for the KRS community! Next week, schools are closed on Thursday, November 10, 2022 and Friday, November 11, 2022 for the NJEA convention. Schools will be closed on Veterans Day, but school counselor Mr. Levine has some meaningful events planned to recognize the special day. Parent/Teacher conferences are on November 21st and November 22nd. If you do not have a scheduled conference, please contact your child's teacher. Have a wonderful weekend!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

KRS Parent/Teacher conferences will be held the evening of November 21st and the afternoon of November 22nd. Please see below for parent tips for parent/teacher conferences:

1. Prepare questions in advance of the conference.

2. Share any relevant information that may support your child's progress in school.

2. Ask about what you may do at home to support your child's progress. For example, resources and information that may be helpful.

3. Ask your child if there is anything your child would like you to mention or ask at the conference.

Star Assessment Reports

Star assessment reports for students in grades 1-5 will be going home via your child's backpack on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Follow this link for parent information about the Star assessment.

Message from Mr. Levine about Veterans Day

Dear Kings Road Community:

With Veterans Day occurring on November 11 (no school) we have decided to honor our veterans with a variety of projects to recognize the great men and women who have served the country.

Students in grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 will attend an assembly, on Wednesday, November 9th where Dr. Vic Schumacher, Madison resident and veteran will be speaking about his experience serving our country.

Students in grades kindergarten and first will read a story about the meaning of Veterans Day. This will occur sometime during the week of November 7th.

The entire KRS Community is welcome to participate in :” Faces of KRS Veterans” Project. We welcome all staff members, parents, and students to submit a picture with a brief description of a friend and/or family member who is a veteran. There is no set format. Please feel free to work on this with your child. Submit to the main office, Mr. Levine, or your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, November 18th. You will receive additional information about this project next week.
