Parent/Guardian Communication Regarding Student Absences
There are multiple ways to communicate if your child will be absent from school. Please use this link found on our website to report an absence.
You can also email adloffice@ewsd.org or call 802-878-1388 to report your child's absence.
Our goal is to not have to make any calls home to ask if a student will be absent. We always call to verify absences so we can be sure our students are accounted for and where they should be for safety reasons. Please help us by proactively reporting absences.
EWSD District Communications Agreement
Communications are an integral part of our District. Learning opportunities are often active, student-centered, and innovative experiences.
As our students develop the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed to prepare them for the next stage of their lives, we often document and celebrate their learning through the use of digital and print media.
Photography and video are best at capturing these learning moments and sharing our stories.
As a District, we are actively using:
● The EWSD (www.ewsd.org) and school websites
● Facebook: www.facebook.com/EssexWestford
● Instagram: @EssexWestford
● YouTube (search Essex Westford School District)
● Flyers/annual reports/handbook/etc.
● And work with the Essex Reporter and other local media outlets
The Essex Westford School District does not require parents to sign a form giving the District permission to share images of students’ likenesses or artistic work to be used in printed, televised, and web-based communication.
*Parents who wish to opt out may request an opt-out form from ADL's Registrar, Katie Bagnall. The opt-out form must be filled out each year.
Band, Chorus, and Orchestra Information
We had sign-ups for Band, Chorus, and Orchestra on the first day of school. Ensemble practices will take place before school, beginning at 7:50 am and starting the week after Labor Day. Here is the schedule for ADL ensemble rehearsals:
