What is Special Education Connections?
Transition Meetings
As we begin to approach the end of the 23-24 school year, our school-based IEP teams are working diligently to schedule and hold transition meetings for our students that are transitioning from early childhood programming to kindergarten as well as for our 6th grade students who are preparing to transition to middle school. If you have a child that is making one of these transitions, and you have question about this process, please contact your child's case manager as soon as possible and they will provide you with answers to any questions that you may have.

CAC Priorities
Every year the SELPA works with a variety of stakeholders to select priority actions for individual school districts to focus on based on identified needs within each district.
As a SELPA the following priority actions were identified:
- Academic and Social Inclusion
- Social/Emotional Wellness
- Self Determination and Self-Advocacy
- Communication and Access to Information
- Post Secondary Transition Practices
- Academic and Social Inclusion
With the support our identified CAC representative, as a department we have prioritized the following focus:
- Communication and Access to Information
Specifically, we are working to enhance parent engagement by creating meaningful and accessible tools that will support home and school collaboration and communication.
As this school year continues to progress we will continue to work diligently to accomplish the above goal with the hopes of sharing our accomplishments with our CAC partners during an upcoming CAC meeting.
Community Resources
There will be a recreation and community resource event Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. It is designed to provide information about public agencies/community partners and recreation resources to parents of children with disabilities and special needs
