Principal's Message
Hello, Families,
What a WEEK! Like the last newsletter, the last few days were full of fun experiences, too. First graders received a read aloud from Miss Teen Columbus, and they also visited COSI and had almost 40 parent chaperones! Second and Third grade EL students visited Friendship Park. Second and Third graders received a presentation from Officer Jones from the Gahanna Police Department about the importance of buckling up. Fourth graders had an absolute blast on their Flint Ridge field trip. Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders had their last SOAR dance session and the Kindergarten, first, and second graders were the perfect audiences. Students and our PTA community spoiled the staff rotten with daily messages, coloring pages, and incredible food for Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. Spread the Word Week was in full force with people wearing daily shirts from years past and ending today with the latest design.
And, finally, Wednesday's We Are the World Celebration of Cultures and Art was one for the books. Goshen Lane SHOWED UP. The food from countless countries and cultures was incredible. The clothing representing different countries was stunning. The games and activities showcased a variety of backgrounds. Third grader's display boards showcased their home countries. And Miss Zabor's Art Show expressed the creative and talented side of all Goshen Lane students. It was a true celebration of what and who our world has to offer. I smiled the whole drive home. đź’•
These next two weeks will continue to be full of learning and FUN. Thank you for all of the support you give to your kiddos each day.
Happy Mothers Day,

Kindergarten Enrollment Update for 2026-2027
At Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools, we have traditionally used an August 1 cutoff for kindergarten eligibility.
Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, new state legislation creates a single, statewide standard. Children must be five years old on or before the first day of instruction in the enrolling district to be eligible for kindergarten. For GJPS, this means children must be five years old on or before August 20, 2026 to be eligible for kindergarten registration.
Registration for new GJPS kindergarten students for the 2026-27 school year is open.
